sanded the contacts and adjusted both sides of the points and its running great. the driver side point wasnt even coming open before. Thanks for your help

Well i know the wires are not the problem b.c i switched them around and still got the same thing.. I did find the problem though when i took off the distributor.There is no breaker Gap on the right side of the points. its basically staying closed every time it rotates. I am going to adjust that...

yes i ohmed it out and got a reading on each wire no open lines.

Will a crab style cap work on the 59ab? I thought I might would try changing the wires out first to make sure its not a big issue

The cap is new and i did look at it but nothing looked out of wack. i didnt check to see if the button was loose. dern helmet head is aggrevating .

Well i tightened up the line hopefully the air intrusion is fixed. I found my issue. number 6 plug isnt getting proper fire and number 8 isnt firing at all. The distributor is only a few months old. I bought it off Joe smith in Atlanta where i get a lot of my flathead parts. Whats next I ohmed...
