As far as I'm concerned, if Tod could build a block that would accept stock parts, fit in the truck the way it is supposed to, and be able to be bored out, stroked, relieved, ported I'd buy one as soon as I could afford one.
Throw some Marvel Mystery oil down the cylinders and let it set a few hours, then fire it up (if it runs) run it for about 20 minutes then do another compression check, sounds to me like rings are stuck.
Although on my license it says I'm an automotive technician, I don't call myself that, I'd rather fix something instead of replace parts! I was in this trade since we were using points ignitions before GM brought out the HEI.
All I know is my '52 F3 has the firewall painted the same blue the rest of the cab is, that being said the truck is 65 years old so it could have been repainted... (I doubt it very much)
Well I didn't get the diesel fuel dumped into the engine yet, As the last couple days my wife took off with it in the back of her truck. I'll be doing it tomorrow however as I grabbed it tonight when I got home from doing some errands. The build may take more time than I want because I just...
Yes I am checking the little box, but this even happens while I'm online just walking away to get something to eat or whatever! I'm getting really sick of it!
My wife is going to pick up some diesel fuel for me tonight after she finishes work. Tomorrow I'll dump some down the cylinders and carb to try to free the engine up. I hope to be able to turn it over before tearing it down. I'll also be crawling under the truck to check the frame, front end...
I'm curious why I have to sign in every 5 minutes or so. It is getting really annoying. If I step away from my computer for more than 5 minutes I must sign in WHY??? I don't have this problem with other forums I'm on so what makes this so different?
Definitely running rich, I'd also say the center cylinders are getting raw fuel to add to the problem, making a complete burn impossible. I'll also bet your oil has a gasoline smell to it.
Personally I refuse to accept anything made in Japan, China, Taiwan etc. if I can find the product MADE IN USA OR CANADA. I don't give two hoots if it cost 3 times as much for the better quality and less human rights violations! We need to get America working and to hell with sending our jobs...
I'm pretty sure you are correct about the DRW, except they were not available with the parcel delivery box top the best of my knowledge. As for the RH5 rims I know all about them as I said earlier. I have a '68 F250 out back that will be losing it's rims for my '52 even though they are split...
