Note that the Powergen 92507 and the 9507 are very different items. The 9507 is a proper reduction gear starter. While the 92507 claims to be a high torque version of the stock starter, I very much doubt it.

Cant say for the 46, but the radio on my 41 SD is held in by the J hooks at the bottom and the antenna connection at the top.

Do you have a pic of the rear? I know there are some repop Aluminium units available. Do you know how they are constructed?

Re: Starter bendix doesn’t engage tight Since I fitted a new clutch and flywheel the reduction starter works fine, so no need to worry about ring gear chamfer. Also if you ever need to go back to a proper Bendix starter (reduction drives are pretty ugly) you know everything will be OK.

Re: Starter bendix doesn’t engage tight Because reduction gear starters engage from the front, flywheel clearance is critical. Turns out my ring gear was not running true on the flywheel and started catching on the starter when running. Fixed now.

If you believe all the work you did was OK, check that the glass bowl is sealing properly. If it's sucking air, I'm pretty sure the pump won't draw.

Check carefully for loose connections - under the dash particularly. Trust me, if you have any loose live wires and they come in contact with earth it will ruin your entire day!

He changed out the steering wheel sometime between 10:19 and 10:31. Quick work!
