Pate Swap Meet... Who went and how was it

For only the 6th time since 1987 have I missed the Pate Swap Meet. And the first time to miss it 2 years in a row. For those who went how was it? Plenty of vendors? Big crowds? The one thing I did notice 3 years ago was how many "vendor spaces" had cars parked in them so people could be closer...

    Hershey...How was it??????

Thanks, Guys, for the replies. I may try to make it next year. I don't need anything for my cars that I can't buy on-line but I enjoy meeting the people and looking for that "one special do-dad" that I must have.

    Hershey...How was it??????

Just curious as to how the swap meet was this year at Hershey. Lots of vendors? When I was there 2 yrs. ago it seemed like there were more cars parked in the vendor spots than there were vendors. I am interested to see how much longer it will go on. Let me know your thoughts and how it was in...

    Temperature gauge repair

I had a temp gauge from a 1933 Plymouth repaired by this company. Top notch work. I don't know what price is to repair the one gauge. I had the whole instrument cluster restored. https://antiqueinstrument.com/

Any shops that will straighten front axle?

Joe's Speed Shop is a regular at The Pate Swap Meet every year. If you are going that would save shipping one way.

    License plate differences

Cars 40 yrs. and older do not require state inspections in La. If using a year of manufacture plate from 1931 it has to be the plate stamped "rear". As far as insurance I don't think it matters at all which plate is on it. That should not change the rate.

    follow up on Hagerty

At least some of you have an option. Hagerty won't write policies in Louisiana anymore. I guess it is because every commercial on TV is an injury lawyer in our state. I've had J.C. Taylor for years but I also have never had to make a claim.....and hope I don't ever.

    Jims Model A Carbs

    Throttle cable problems

As you can see from the pics I am trying to connect two Stromberg 81's using a Lokar throttle cable assembly. The problem I am having is getting the throttle to return to the idle position. As you push down on the pedal the carbs open up as they should, but lifting off the pedal they do not...

Having trouble getting new Miller-Cragar setup to run

Are you using the stock gas tank? If so it's probably not getting enough fuel to carbs. Strombergs like 2.5 to 3 psi to work properly. I have a Riley 2 Port running on an engine stand with a small fuel tank above the engine and my 2 81's starve at times. I will be running a fuel pump in the car

I have a '30 Brookville Model A roadster body that needs some work on the bottom of body. I plan to set it up on my Whirly Jig rotisserie. Engine Stand

From what I can tell you are on the right path in the first picture. The bell housing spacer would bolt directly to those 2 up rights WITHOUT the frame motor mount. The "V" shaped bars coming up from the bottom rails on opposite end would be for the front motor mount "Y" yoke. The 2 uprights in...
