    Flathead conundrum.

We shall see, I mean, I wouldn’t mind having one or two of the pickled engines just to see what kind of shape they’re in. I just don’t know if I wanna take on the whole package. There is a lot. Next time I go over there I’ll get some pictures. Kiwinus, I have some paste that you put on a...

Correct, 1937 was also the year Ford went to a one piece hood. It opened much like modern hoods do.

    Flathead conundrum.

Yeah, I think I needed the voice of reasoning. I really don’t even have time to work on the Flatheads I do have. Maybe I’ll just make an offer on one or two of them and see what happens, worst he can say is no. And I’ll probably be better off for it.

    Flathead conundrum.

Karl, I’m in North Pole Alaska. There’s not a ton of interest for Flatheads stuff up here. I know this because I’ve tried to advertise some of the stuff I have to get rid of it. I just can’t bear to throw it away. But in a few times I have advertised very little interest has been shown. And if...

    Flathead conundrum.

It would be very messy to do. And to add to it, it’s getting cold and snow is on the ground. I don’t know why I didn’t take pics. I wish I could find two more buyers, split it three ways, and only have to drag one truck home :) I’ll have to work on that.

    Flathead conundrum.

I’m not a spring chicken, And I already have a dozen flatheads and a shed full of parts. Curiosity killed the cat, but I’m dying to see if any of those pickled engines are any good. But manifolds, carbs and dist were pulled to make them fit in drums. So they are all projects at best.

    Flathead conundrum.

I’m trying to figure out what to do here. I have an opportunity to buy about 15 Flatheads, All 59 A-B except for one 8BA and one pre 38. Most have been pickled in drums full of oil for thirty + years. I’ve known about these for a long time. New owner now, just wants to get rid of them. But it’s...

    6v to 12v conversion 59AB (diver helmet)

I have done this exact thing before, but I cheated and used one of the adapters that Speedway sells that goes on top of the Divers helmet distributor. This allows you to run any kind of coil.

Torque specs for 59AB with 8BA crank

Thank you, I know crank/cam gears are different, I would probably stick with the earlier gears. So do the crank bearings need to be 59A style?

Model A models for tall drivers?

I am 6 feet When I built my hot rod I was considering chopping the top couple inches. I’m so glad I didn’t. Even with the standard top it’s a tight fit.

    1947 Coupe running board mounting?

All the bolts are 5/16 x 24 Thanks Bruce! Maybe I’m thinking about this all wrong. Do The rubber bushings for the running board go on the top and the bottom? Or only on the bottom? I was thinking, the rubber bushings sandwiched the running board, but maybe not? If they do not, then I have...

    1947 Coupe running board mounting?

I’m getting ready to cover and mount the running boards to body. There are seven holes on each side that are threaded.(not counting the major body mount holes. But, I only have 12 sets of bushings that came in the running board kit. Does anyone have a diagram of how these are laid out? I do have...
