    Frame - is it straight?

too add on the string idea. I use a string tied to two 1 gallon jugs to do my alignments. its a good way to put a straight line in the air next to something also when im picking out boards. i look down them the long way it becomes easy to see a wow in there.

Mode A Piston expander/ knurling tool to Buy

I had some serious egging in the bores but it was all in the center in the bores and tapered out to less at the top and none at the bottom. my thought being if you knurl you may need to bore to your knurl size. check your bore size at multiple locations in the bore.

    Bad Stud thread

I broke a stud before. I used the head as a guide with the drill bits wrapped in electrical tape to bush them to the hole. you can also use tape to make a mark of depth on your drill bit. I went without a depth mark and drilled through my block to the water jacket, and have to thread seal that...

Ford Model A Camshaft Inspection and Evaluation

Listen to the experts. 4 out of 5 doctors smoke camels. Thats why I do. At a glance that cam is fine, run it.(very nice points). To make a cheap valve tool grind a open end of a half inch wrench to make a wedge shape. weld that wrench to another wrench. then hand that gig off of a manifold...

    cr"A"nk it in 45 seconds

I have tired of trying more than once. Now I put a gloved hand on the crank and get er whirling she kicks me out when she catches and passes my arm speed. Ignition System Question

I just had my car back fire around 40 and stall out to the side of the road on the last ride. My pertronix coil has a cone shape to its top. The stock style rubber was causing a problem with the cone on the pertronix. The metal wire end was lose fitting which may have added to or allowed the...

    Question about selling A parts

the model a buy sell face book group has enough members to get people near by interested in what you have. I would buy it if its in my area. The problem here is that I dont look in the swap page much because things are not sorted by area and the amount of available parts flow is much less than...

    stone guard

you can use flattened expanded steel using some wire to hang it from the radiator wings that hold the shell. mild steel is pretty cheap and will rust up nicely. I found 18 ga x.5in opening($13+ship for a 24inx24in) is a really good fit you can fit up to 13 ga but it will be tight tight. measure...

Feedback on modern tube shocks for Model A's

I did my own thing with some $20 gabirals at a 45 angle and have friction shocks in the front. good bump dampening on both ends. the gabirels seem better than the friction. but that may be king pin bushing that are starting to get bad.
