If you are starting on battery, there will be buzz with the spark lever up if the cylinder is in position to fire. Moving the spark lever down is not the correct way to start. The car should be started on battery with the lever all of the way up. It is easy to get a kickback and break an arm...

I use Windows and it is one click of the mouse to resize. One more click to confirm. Everybody makes it hard trying to reinvent the wheel like some of the Model T modifications.

Tom Carnegie I think was the one who mentioned using Never-Seez as paint on the exhaust manifold. After it is heated from the running engine it sets and looks like bare metal. I have it around the nut when I put the new manifold on and it looks good there.

Put a voltmeter in and be done. Also, 15max, the Alternator puts out DC current as well as the generator. Good Luck.

I use over the counter Kilz brand spray paint only because it was the shade of green I wanted. It works fine and even on the head looks good. It's been on two engines now for 7 years and never had a problem with it.

Make sure your distributor body is grounded to the battery well and the moveable plate that the points mount to has a good ground to the body of the distributor also.

Yes, so after the first 5 miles the battery should be recharged so you really don't need anymore after that. If you don't drive much at night but do occasionally, then a discharge with the lights on shouldn't matter much as long as there is a slight charge without the lights on. YMMV.

Check your distributor ground. Might need to run a wire from distributor body to engine or battery ground.

With all due respect, what they are trying to tell you is yes it will run fine until you need a manifold because the rings are missing. Then you get to spend the money on $85 on a new manifold, or you can just put rings and glands in now for a few bucks. And no, it is a Model T not a Detroit...

In the picture you posted above, there is a green manifold gasket. That is what I was referring to.
