Great advice from everyone. Appreciate the responses. But can someone explain to me how you put metal etchers on and then wash it off with WATER and don't get rust right away (at least this is the process I am reading for some of them)?

1940 1/2 ton pickup with what I believe to be very old paint/rust. I have removed most of it with a 40 or 60 grit disc. But what is the remainder left over (and its not "pitting" as far as I can see). No matter how many times I go over it it just remains. Can I do primer/body filler over it...

Had this brace on the front fender. Internally - large side against inside of fender closest to frame. Small side unattached. Does this look "familiar" or is this something someone added? If incorrect what is the intended "stock/correct" bracing for front fenders? Thanks for your time. Attached...

Good Afternoon. What is the factory correct bolt and hardware used to attach the front of the bed subframe to the front wood frame (the horizontal bolt)? Believe it is a carriage bolt but what are the specs and what other hardware was used? Thanks

Part of my assumption about buying the "best" reproduction bed kit at top dollar is that they would preassemble the kit and make sure that when you align the "alignment screws" that the panels would be square - square enough at least. How precise was the ford factory in 1940??? Before...
