    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

I think I will dig back into the distributor tomorrow and start there, that is what I have my thoughts on.

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

Just to give you guys a good laugh on a Friday......the odometer only shows "6" miles on it, so it should virtually be a new motor right.....hahaaaa:D

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

The compression test is my next step.....and I probably should of dis that first off to see what I was really working with. But with the flat spot it has, it very could be a weak cylinder or more.

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

I will just keep putzing on it and look over the steps a few guys mentioned on here, sometimes a guy thinks to much and maybe overlooks something simple that could be the cause.

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

Here is a quick video of it running.....what's your thoughts? http://youtu.be/nuzQYcV8z_c Of course it's only at an idle so can't tell much.

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

You guys have great info, I thought I had done all of the above but will have to gap the plugs again, it also seems that when turning the adjustment rod, it doesn't seem to change much and I did check to make sure it is turning the adjustment in and out and it is....it's just like hitting a wall...

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

I will have to pull and re-gap the plugs, at .025 wouldn't the spark just be a little hotter or is the difference enough to make a big difference? I also looked at Marco's chart and that's where my rotor is, same as picture he has on his site.

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

I did check my other 29 that runs like a top and the rotor is as spot on as it can be in comparison.....just scratching my head on this one???

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

Yep I did, I double checked that twice......but as your post mentioned, it sure seems like the timing is somewhat retarded with the lack of power. But it fires right up when starting with spark advance lever all the way down.

    Stuck valve....I'd guess??

This past weekend I fired up the new project I brought home a week ago. I cleaned the points, changed out the condenser, replaced the coil and also timed the motor. I changed the condenser after getting it running the first time and "seemed" to make a difference after starting it the second. The...

Canfield is making me build a Roadster! Can I build it from swap meet only parts?

It is nice to see a finished car.....but to see them start with a frame and a cowl and adding the pieces along the way and then sitting in the shop on the four tires and rolling chassis like that earlier picture you posted, that is the stuff dreams are made of......

    After 40 years of rest...

Over this past weekend, I dug in my heels to try and give the recent 29 Tudor I picked up for another project a wake up call. My sixteen year old son and I spent a few hours on Saturday seeing what would happen if we added a little gas and spark and a little fresh air to this sleeper...... He...

    I'm Not A Hoarder

Hmmmm, so that's where they all are...hahaaa!! I would say at least they are there instead of gone for good and "NO MORE"!!!

    Coil, condenser or points?

My first 29 I brought home 3 years ago had sat for 40 years in storage, I replaced the coil cause I had no spark and then as you just mentioned, play around with the points cleaning and then setting them and had it running ( not perfectly ) the first night and after a little more tinkering it...

    Coil, condenser or points?

Thanks Tom..... Kind of what I was thinking but didn't have my feeler gauge or file at home last night and I wanted to clean and set them and them and eliminate that as an issue.

    Coil, condenser or points?

Last night I had a little extra free time so I decided to see if I could get the new project to fire. It has sat for over 10 years I believe without running and probably 30 years prior to that. I put on a new coil and cleaned all contact pins on top of dist cap and also cleaned the straps that...
