Is there a material I could use similar to plasti-gauge to do a static check on brake shoe to drum gap? I think it would give me a rough idea on where to remove material to arc the shoe to the drum.

I'm putting a 1971 Ford Maverick rear end in my 1950 Ford car can anybody tell me a part number for the rear conversion universal joint to fit the 50 drive shaft? Thanks, Andy

Wow! A great response, I'm not about to break into the rear end so I'll just replace the seal per your suggestions. It was not making noise so I think I'll be okay. Thank you Andy

I'm replacing the pinion seal on my 1950 Ford car. The drive shaft is out, the pinion nut, shaft and u-joint flange are marked and wheels are off the ground. When I rotate the u-joint flange by hand it moves freely clockwise and cc about 6 degrees before I feel contact with the ring gear. Is...

Thanks for the responses. Andy

Can anyone tell me, what is the diameter of the pivot ball for the clutch linkage on a 1940 - 1948 Ford car? Thanks, Andy

It's getting hard to get my knees under the steering wheel and hit the pedals on my 30 Coupe. Does anybody have an idea on how to raise the steering wheel a couple inches, is there a kit available? Thanks for any replies, Andy

I'm putting the Speedway Motors Tremec T5 trans conversion kit in a 1950 Ford car. Has anyone done this? *What crossmember can be used? ( Jamco has one that works with a TH350 ) *How is the 1950 clutch linkage adapted to work with the 1948 design? *I've got the new drive shaft yoke, will the...

I need the trans adapter for a 49-51 Ford car that will allow for the installation of a Tremec 5 speed transmission. It is 3” wide and I believe the part number is 8BA-6392. The 3" adapter will bolt to the Speedway Motors GM T5 trans adapter #91628912.

Question - Are the transmission and overdrive assemblies (excluding internal parts) for the 49, 50 and 51 Ford car (not convertible) interchangeable? Thanks for any input, Azandy

I hope I'm not stretching the rules for this forum but I'm trying to get a message thru to russcc. Apparently your inbox is full and won't accept more messages. If you delete a few messages I can get thru and we can talk. Thanks, azandy

I'm looking for a 1949 or 1950 Ford car overdrive or the overdrive and transmission together. Thanks, Azandy

I broke something in the overdrive unit in my 1950 Ford car (cracked the case). I'm looking to replace the overdrive unit or the od. and trans together.

There's as much as 1/8 inch of free axial movement in a couple of the small gears in the differential of my 1950 Ford car. Is this normal and if I need to tighten them up how can I do it without disturbing the ring and pinion gear settings? Thank you, Andy
