    The 60-A, B, C Fordor Sedans

The 60-A and 60-B were nearly identical except for production changes common to all body styles. The obvious difference is that the 60-A had a seal brown top while the 60-B had a black top, but the tops have been replaced on many of the surviving cars. From owner data and information, it...

    Leatherback '28-'29 Group

Thought I would jump start this post again. I am working with Steve Plucker on an upcoming (early 2021) article for The Restorer (MAFCA) magazine on the 60-A/B/C Fordors. If you own one and haven't done so already, I would really appreciate it if you could post or send me your Briggs body tag...

60-A and 60-B Body Tags (Briggs)

Here is a picture of where the Briggs body tag is located on 60-A, B, & C Fordors (possibly other Briggs bodies as well). I would appreciate any body #'s with Firewall dates from the 60-A/B/C in order to reproduce the "production curve", which will finally reveal how many of these body styles...

Wiring for Dome Light AND Electric Wiper

Thank you Jim. I've seen these photos and I don't think page 291 applies to my 60-C since the switch in integrated into the light. I think the wiring under the tank should be similar to page 356 but the diagram doesn't make it clear whether there are one or two wires running through the...

Wiring for Dome Light AND Electric Wiper

I have a 1929 Fordor (60-C) and I have a dome light and an electric wiper. I'm trying to find out whether there were originally one or two wires that go through the clips under the gas tank, along the inside of the cowl and firewall on their way to the terminal box. I want to make this correct...

Floorboard - Shift Lever Plate Clips

Thanks everybody. This is very helpful as I will be riveting tonight.

Floorboard - Shift Lever Plate Clips

Thank you for the picture. This confirms that the rivet head is on the bottom. There also doesn't appear to be a washer between the clip and the upset end of the rivet. I don't think they would use a washer under the rivet head (head diameter is large), so either it was not used, or it is...

Floorboard - Shift Lever Plate Clips

I'm making new floorboards and trying to make them to the original specs. The plate clips which rotate to hold on the shift lever plate came with rivets and washers. I believe I read somewhere on FB that the rivet head goes on the bottom of the floorboard. My question is: does the washer go...

    Frame spreader plans

I found a quick, cheap, and easy solution at my local Home Depot. They sell post jacks in just the right size to fit between the Model A frame. This is the type of adjustable post that you see holding up the ceiling in old basements. I also used it to straighten my frame. It was between...

    Bead blast cabinet

Just had this happen recently and it WAS the plastic siphon tube. The media had worn a hole in it on the top end and the machine was barely functioning. It was very frustrating to spend an hour on a part that should have taken five minutes. Inspect the tube carefully (the hole was about the...

    Floorboard Paint

Mark, I am seeing a lot of products under the name Gilsonite. Can you please be more specific on the product you are recommending.

    Hood Shelf Blocks

Synchro, what you are seeing is an oil pressure sender that is part of the temperature/pressure dual gauge that I bought from Snyders.

Since I just happen to be putting these back on my car today, I took some pictures for you.

    SolidWorks Expert? Make a part...

31Woody: I have quite a bit of experience with CAD, part design, laser scanning, and 3D printing through my day job as an engineer. I don't own Solidworks (wish I did), but I used it at a previous company. I do have another CAD program at home. At the least, maybe I can provide some advice...

Rear Bumper Bracket - Straight or Angled?

Thanks again for the input everyone. After digesting the info and doing a little more research, I now agree that the brackets should be swept back about 10° on each side. It would be useful to have this info in a future revision of the Model A judging standards.

Rear Bumper Bracket - Straight or Angled?

d.j. moordigian: Thanks for posting the FB link. Both brackets have a slight wave which I'm glad to learn came from the factory (I thought those came from tampering by previous owners). After reading the linked post, I think I have taken a step backward. Marco Tahtaras states in the post...

Rear Bumper Bracket - Straight or Angled?

Thanks guys. Straight out (left side) is correct and angled (right side) is incorrect. Now I know which one needs to be fixed.

Rear Bumper Bracket - Straight or Angled?

The attached picture shows the rear bumper brackets on my '29 Briggs Fordor. As you can see, the left one goes straight out to the side while the right one is angled toward the rear. These are both the correct brackets, I think one is just a little bent. Which one is correct - straight or angled?

    1928-1929 Fiberglass Sedan Rear Fenders

1928-1929 Ford Model A Sedan (Tudor or Fordor) fiberglass rear fenders. These fenders came off of my 1929 Briggs Fordor and are in very nice condition. They are selling new for $300/ea. They are painted black and have a few scratches in the paint which could be touched-up to go on a nice...

28/29 Briggs blind back top question.

Thanks for the photo-clarification - not what I was thinking.
