ok men compression is #1-61 #2-60 #3-62 #4-63.post later,getting camera to look at pistons and remove oil filler tube to look around.learned alot from this post.check in later.thanks

gee, great information.going to try all suggestions.all mechanical is done,just body work remains.i only had to add brake rods and emergency brake bans.report later.many thanks

the engine is in a roadster i want to sell it.the owner passed away before finishing it,but the rolling chassis had all new parts.the engine runs great but i don't want to call it rebuilt until i know.

could not find original bolts.snyders and mike are selling these bolts.i made it work by grinding a socket on a taper,to torque the bolts.post picture later when grandchildren come.

anyone got any way to torque main bearing bolts when socket won't go down far enough on short bolt head?could not find orginal bolts

got it fixed.took carb off of other car to eliminate carburator it worked fine.after that took manifolds off,and got new manifold i had.used copper gaskets,other manifolds were warped. fired right up.oh well learn by making a mistake.thank everyone for you help.

alright gentlemen,did the bob bidonde spark in the dark test,great idea by the way, and found bad resistor.replaced, thet reinstalled straight manifolds,gasket, and still no gas to cylinders.removed spark plug,poured tiny amount of fuel in plug hole,engine fired.i understand i'm not getting gas...

still working on it,that is good teaching,all comments welcome if i cant correct it.good stuff.

ok.will install manifolds, torque them and check timing,compression,and fuel.thanks for information.

the engine would fire and not run.pulled manifolds assuming the intake was leaking and not pulling gas up to run,plus exhaust manifold was leaking.i never got engine to run.i have got good spark at points and fuel to carb. but cant get it running.

any one know why when i removed intake/exhaust manifold,raw gasoline was in one of the chambers?never seen this before thanks
