I'm getting ready to install my new rebuilt engine with rebuilt transmission attached. I have also assembled the pedals onto the bell housing. Will this be a problem as I swing the combo back into place? Will I have to take the pedals off?

I strongly recommend Schwalm's Babbitted Bearings, Inc. In Strasburg, PA. 717-687-6976. They specialize in Model A engines and have years of experience. Flawless reputation. I had just had them do an engine for me.

The horn has two "clips" inside the cover. The wires slide in under those clips - they have to come in from the sides to fit properly. The wires must have properly soldered "bullet" connectors on the ends.

I ordered new shafts from Bratton's. They are too large in diameter. I tried driving the pedal shaft into the bell housing with no luck. It only went part way before seizing. I'm now faced with figuring how to get it back out! I don't want to use the old one because of wear at the critical...

Of course I meant lift, not jack!!

Synchro - Both Bratton's and Snyder's have the right ones, but I don't know how to get them down under!!

A friend recommended putting about 50% STP with 80/90 regular gear oil in the ****** to aid in shifting. Comments?

Tom - please comment about installing grease fittings in the bell housing at the ends of the clutch shaft. Otherwise, how do you grease/lubricate those bushings? The pedals have grease fittings.

The four bellhousing to transmission bolts are Grade 5 (three marks on the head).

I just had an engine rebuilt by Schwalms. They use Bill Hirsch paint and have for years with good experience. Engine looks great!!

Where are you folks buying your Corn Head grease? JD Dealer? Tractor Supply? ????
