One piece driveshaft - '38 Ford?

Hi folks, Converting my '38 to open drive as going the 5-speed route. Just pulled my torque-tube forward expecting to find a coupler to split it from the pinion, but have found this... ...no coupler and a one-piece shaft. I've seen these on Model A's but not V8s before. Anyone else come...

    New Port Engineering

Unboxed the electric wiper kit for my '38 at 3pm, 4 hours later I have twin-speed wipers. What a great set-up. Simplicity itself, and worked perfectly first time. If you're pondering getting a kit from these guys, buy with confidence.

    New headlight wiring harnesses

Guys, The wiring harness on my '38 Deluxe at the bottom of my steering has become frayed and brittle so needs changing. Some years ago I bought a new one for a model A and it was very poor quality. Does anyone make a good quality replacement for a '38 or should I attempt (if possible) to...

I'm fitting F100 brakes to the front of my '38 and I need a pair of adapters to run the wide 5 wheels. Does anyone have a pair - such as those made by Dick Spadaro - with 5.5" pcd to wide 5 please? Cheers. Darren

    Ignition switch failure

Cheers guys. Bringing this back from the archives with a thank you. Had the same issue with a '38 I've just bought and it was the contacts in the switch. Used G.M.'s methods of flatting them with 1000 grit lubed with Plusgas, and all is good.

    Phaeton roof irons question

Ah, thanks for your reply. Good to know, in a way, that it isn't unusual. There is no cover on mine at the moment, so I'm going to try a few things over the weekend to see if it makes a difference.

    Phaeton roof irons question

Hi guys, Just in the process of repairing and making good my roof irons and have a quick question. When the irons are folded down, how close to the body should they be when at rest? The main bow folds straight back on its pivot, but when the rest folds down, it wants to make contact with the...

    Phaeton top iron differences

Hey guys, Just about to start repairing an old set of irons for my '28 tub that came with a big pile of bits. Before I get too far in to it, can anyone tell me what the difference is between the earlier and later irons? I don't want to spend a few days on these to find they're the wrong ones...
