thanks much!!!!!

I have a 1930 Model A frame fully assembled, running car.... I want to replace the nuts/bolts on the side of the frame that holds in the front cross member (side=facing the wheel) and was wondering if I can simply remove these bolts to replace, or am I dealing with sprung issues? Meaning.... as...

anyone know the minimum distance between axle and frame.... like can I get away with an inch? Understanding that spring tension has a factor in it... but still wonder if I can get away with an inch? As I said above, my 4 spring pack installed has the axle just almost touching the frame...

WHOA!!!!! Replaced the new 4 leaf spring and it def lowered it..... almost right on top of the axle.... and obviously the wishbones need to be adjusted forward because it rolled back soo much. I seriously think it dropped it 3 inches. So probably need to add a leaf or two. Question is.... what...

Thanks. Yes, I am going to start with 4 (as is) and set it down on the ground. Then, add one at a time and see what works/drives best.

Check out the two pic for references. The 8 leaf pack is what was in my model A frame (sitting in factory cross member) and the 4 pack is what was supposed to come with my Speedway kit (spring behind axle). With the 8 pack has a standard eye, the ride height was REALLY high, higher than the...

Does anyone have a source or advice on a interior panel for the rear area (behind the seat)? I have all the other interior panels, but don't know what to do with the area behind the seat since it has a curve. Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you!

It is, but I like to over engineer, so I will do some additional bracing/reinforcing.

Does anyone know of a template for mounting the windshield posts on an undrilled body? I have searched with no luck. OR Is the trick to assemble the frame, posts, stanchions, etc. align over the hump and that's it? I have Vintiques posts and stanchions and am looking for a frame, but probably...

Thanks DavidG.... my car will be here today (hopefully) and I will be able to post pics of the frame. The seller states that it is a rare 32 frame (the other guy I know with the same VIN starting ID has the same story for his frame). My hunch is that the frame under the car I bought is a Model...

Ahhhh.... I thought it would be a frame difference, not just a body difference.

This is starting to make sense.... both titles have the LGHTDL designation.

correct.... my interest is really around the storied "D" frame for specs. Not for value, rarity, etc, just to understand where the origin of this so called "rare frame" is and if it's even real, myth or nothing.

Not an auction house, Hagerty is an insurance company who also offers vehicle verification services to non local buyers, but yes, I agree, they just need to insure that the new owner can legally transfer the title to cover their end. My question has really strayed away from this rumored "B"...

full VIN check, car check, etc. done by Hagerty in person. Title matches the VINs, all is good. I am a very careful buyer.

Well, if DavidG doesn't know about be ellusive (aka rumored) D 32 Frame, VIN, etc. I am going to consider it just that a rumor. The car will be here mid of next week, so I will have pics of the VIN, frame, etc. Doesn't really matter to me, I bought a really fun 32 Roadster hot rod, just love...

funny thing is.... the two frames are in close proximity now, but mine came from Indiana, the other is in So Cal.

a hot rod shop up the street by me also has a title with a D serial for a 32 Ford. So it's not just me.

I just bought a very hot rodded 32 Roadster with a serial that starts with "D5". The frame does not look like a standard 32 (see my other thread where I realized I have something different). So.... now I am being told the "D" frames are super rare (too late, this one has been boxed and...

I know, I know, everyone needs these and of course, I want it chopped 2 inches, but I am open to aftermarket over factory Ford. Also, I have a glass body, so no matter what I do, I will probably have to do a lot of fab anyway. But.... it's always worth posting in the "want" section.
