    Model t speedster kit chassis

Hi buzz882, I've almost finished building one of these now and I agree with gz regarding the earlier chassis being the better one for the job. Knowing what I've learned with this project, I'd stay away from a 26-27 chassis. However, I elected not to buy Tom Rootliebs lowered rear cross...

how many 1908 model Ts exist today?

According to the "Encyclopaedia" 3 pedal cars started production on 19th December 1908.....as below, DEC 19 Ford Archives Three-pedal cars under production. (Model T) Numerous modifications in design were made. A factory letter indicates that after 500 cars the three-pedal modification...

    Best Sparkplug for T

After mucking around with modern plugs for a couple of years, I've had the same set of Champion X's in my car since 2006. Initially, I used adapters to run a variety of modern plugs, because they had a much bigger heat range. I spent a whole lot of cash on various modern plugs and eventually...

    Stromberg OF & RHD

Hi, I wonder if anyone can supply me with information or, better still, photo's of the throttle linkage they have used on a "Stromberg OF" carb fitted to a Right Hand Drive car. My Speedster has the steering column located 2 inches rearwards and I'm having difficulty fabricating a curved...

    Cant access the MTFCA Forum

I can assure you my browser cache etc is squeaky clean, Thanks. I'm having no trouble now and all seems to be OK. Its always been a slow loading site but just these last 2 days its been "timing out" according to Edge, Firefox and Chrome. I suppose it could be a trans Pacific issue but I have...

    Cant access the MTFCA Forum

Well, since this post I've been trying to get onto the "other" forum without any success, but, just now, its worked OK. So please disregard my earlier question. Cheers, Rob

    Cant access the MTFCA Forum

Hi, I suppose I really shouldn't be posting this here but for a couple of days now, I've been unable to access any of the MTFCA website, including the forum. I've tried on 3 different browsers, and from 2 different computers, without luck. Anyone else having trouble? If so, I wonder if its got...

    High and low cowls

And then, in '26, they changed again. At that time the fuel tank was incorporated in the cowl and not under the seat. They are easily identified by having many more side flutes in the hood. Cheers, Rob

    Model T Distributor

There is another alternative, John Stoltz of "Model T Ranch", Texas, makes a distributor with a difference that's worth a look. I've been running one for 13 years now, without fault. http://modeltranch.com/index.asp Cheers, Rob

    Another "new 2 the T"

Wow, thats nice. Please preserve it with all its present patination that tells the cars story. Its too good to restore. Cheers, Rob

    450 x 21" tires...

I've just bought a set of 5 Lucas tyres for my, as yet unfinished, speedster. Fair enough, they're made in Vietnam, but so are most T tyres these days. The price is very good and I really like the look of the sidewalls and the tread pattern, which is an old Olympic pattern. Cheers, Rob...

    14 speedster wiring question

If you get in touch with one of the parts vendors, Langs, Chaffins etc, they'll sell you a wiring loom at a very reasonable price. All the necessary ends are on the wires which are all cut to length and wound. I'm sure it would be easier to adapt a pre-made loom than trying to build one...

    Owning a model T vs model A

Our Model T has been in the family since 1964. Its been on the road, after a full restoration, for the past 11 years and I enjoy taking it to shows and driving it in parades etc. BUT, if I was about to buy my first early Ford and had a choice of a T or an A, and knowing what I do now, I'd chose...

    14mm Plugs

With a HC head and 14mm adapters, you'll have a very wide range of spark plugs to choose from to get the car to run just right. With a low compression (Stock) head, I've found that I can get my cars, to start easier and idle smoother using good old Champion X's. Cheers, Rob

J Franklin, I enjoyed that video too. Thanks for posting it. Having been driven around Greenfield Village in a centenary T in summer, it was really great to see the place in snow. Cheers, Rob

    New "voltage regulator"

My '21 has been running one for the past 11 years with NO problems and I plan to put one on my '15 Speedster too. Another bullet proof Fun Projects product....and that's now become what you'd expect from John Regan.

Is there An advantage to A distributor over a magneto

Some T owners, mostly those who don't understand the original ignition system, say that the original system is troublesome. In the early stages of T ownership, I was one of those people. I removed the magneto ring, but left the magnets to circulate the oil and I replaced the coils with a...
