Now that I have my 1955 sunliner overdrive transmission fixed and working properly I want to service it . The BW manual says not to use any synthetic oil and it must be a GL-1…but doesn’t state what weight/viscosity it is. Can anyone tell what is the best gear lube to use ? Also many thanks...

I figured out the solenoid on my sunliner is shot. I bought a new one from Tee-Bird in Pennsylvania. The old seal is crushed and I think not installed properly. I have the borg warner manual but it gives no specifics about which way to install it. The one on the left is the old one the other...

I finally fixed my issues recently… Electric fan in front of the radiator Carb spacer (as mentioned above) 6 blade fan on water pump side. Completely rerouted the fuel line and insulated it. Don’t waist your time with blue racing antifreeze or water wetter products (complete waist of money)...

Re: 1955 Sunliner overdrive problem… Yes…it has petronix set up in the distributor. The car also has had a full 12 volt conversion. With the exception of the blower motor and radio…those have step down rectifiers. I guess something finally went wrong in the distributor. The fun keeps coming!
