    Emergency Brake Ratchet

Thank you, Mr. Joe! I just read about it and it seems simple to remove and replace the spring. I am thinking of replacing the ratchet and the pawl since they wear out at the same from what I read. And I would hate to order a .60 spring and pay 10 bux for shipping.

    Emergency Brake Ratchet

Are you able to tell from this picture if the ratchet or the pawl (or both) is worn? I’m thinking I should change them both. Recent issue since installing and adjusting new cast iron brakes.

    Brake Fade is Real!

September UPDATE: She is in good hands with Mr. Randy Gross now. Removed everything on all four wheels and shipped them back West for cast iron drums and refurbishing. Also found that my youngest son Aaron is showing some interest on learning more about Henry's Lady!

    Brake Fade is Real!

Had a recent experience with brake fade coming down a hill and it is not fun! Now one of the studs on my rear wheel is stripped. I had planned on switching to cast iron drums over the winter. My options: (1) Go through the trouble of buying the tools to fix the current stud OR (2) buy the...

    Worn Piston Rings

I did add the Lucas Heavy duty oil and used the stainless-steel pad in the oil fill tube. Went on a two-hour drive over the weekend, she was extra quiet and no evidence of blow by. She ran like a dream there and back!

    Worn Piston Rings

Unfortunately, I am seeing more symptoms of worn piston rings with the most recent being evidence of blow by. The previous owner did mention that she would need a ring job sooner rather than later. I plan on adding some Lucas Heavy Duty oil hoping this gets me through the season and working...

I did find this great visual of what it should look like. I did purchase the retaining clip. I did not think about other potential missing parts

    Head and Tail light bulbs

Yes! I went with the LEDs shared by Paul Shin in his "LEDs Again" video. These are not the bright white LED and looks much closer to the original yellow lights.

1928 Model A Torque Tube Speedometer Gear

UPDATE 7/1: Now I understand the guidance on the Loctite to hold the gear in place and/or the coat hanger in place of the snap ring. I under the car yesterday and looked for the snap ring with no luck. I think it is reasonable to conclude that it may have been left off re-assembly during the...

    Wire Harness Replacement A14401 & A14403

UPDATE: I discovered the culprit was the headlight socket. I went ahead and replaced it (thank you Snyder's) and I also went with this style of plug to keep the connectors in place. Success! Both lights are working perfectly!

    Exhaust leak sound

I will have to try this! I believe I also have a leak, but I am unsure how to listen for it. I did buy replacement gaskets from Snyders but have not gotten around to changing them out.
