I picked up a parts motor from a '53 Mercury. Pulled the crank and confirmed it as a 4" stroke. It has some numbers cast into it (M 511: ) that I can not find referenced anywhere. Anyone seen these before?

You can put an S-10 tail housing and top cover on the Mustang T-5 to move the shifter forward.

I'm in the same boat. Have a '41 221 that has had the sleeves removed and came with new .0825" over pistons and rings. Unfortunately, the block sat for 40 years and now a few of the cylinders have rust that will require boring. Would be nice to take it out to 3-3/16".

Axles will be replaced. Back when I was a kid, Corncrib mechanics was all we knew. Growing up in farm country we had more time and tools than we had money and knowledge. Surprised we survived.

There's a couple salvage yards that specialize in the old stuff about 100 miles from me. I checked and between the two there's a half dozen '41 rear ends to choose from at $400 each. So, worse case, I can grab a whole rear end if I have too. The rear end I have has already been blasted, primed...

I guess I'll be looking for new (good used) axle shafts. Just don't think I would ever trust them. Anyone know off the top of their head what years will work? Thanks.
