- As far as the lock cylinder not turning all the way in the handle, the bezel/escutcheon has to be in a certain position before the cylinder will turn all the way.

- This is a 1940 Ford trunk/deck handle lock cylinder.... This one is a Briggs & Stratton instead of a HURD but they are physically the same. I think the one you have is for a 1939 Mercury. I would suspect the key being the problem as much as the lock cylinder. (or a combination of the two)...

Thanks Joe. I have built a multitude of cars and trucks in my 83 years so I know exactly what you are talking about. This truck is a "maintenance and drive" vehicle, that is why I was so picky when looking for a driver Model A pickup.
