original '29 coupe trunk floor pan

I have both of those panels you mention. Neither was accurate. I save any and all original panels if i can. Mine is beyond repair.

original '29 coupe trunk floor pan

Thanks Rusty. Those pics show details that i desperately needed. Can i trouble you to measure the width and depth of the bead on the rumble seat platform? I think the width is 1" but not sure how high the bead rises up. The other beads on the sides and front of my panel are pretty good so i'm...

original '29 coupe trunk floor pan

Just wondering if anyone has really good pictures of an "original" trunk floor panel. Mine is all beat up. I'd like to be able to see the bead shape and detail that's stamped into the large top flat area shown in the picture. Bead width and depth would be great too, but not a deal breaker. I...

    Sick engine

I would also plan to remove the oil pan and inspect / clean it up. Probably lots of crap in there. Hopefully no damage was already done by running it.

    Hot '53 Mercury flatty

So I called the guy that had it and I'm sorry to say, it's gone. Probably sold for scrap. So back to my fatty. Will the starter from the automatic work with the bell and plate I have?

Thanks for the pictures Merc Cruzer. All you guys are really making me wish i had grabbed that power steering stuff. I'll have to check on the car. Maybe its still there. Is there anything else i should look for? If i remember correctly, the car had fender skirts and the stainless steel spare...

    Hot '53 Mercury flatty

Yes a compression test is one thing I'm gonna do. This engine had the Merc-o-matic behind it originally. I have the starter from it. I also picked up a flywheel, cast bell, and starter plate. Will this starter work with the cast bell / starter plate? Or do I need to change something or get a...

I wish I would have known that when I got the engine. I had first chance at everything.

    Hot '53 Mercury flatty

Thanks everyone. I feel better now moving ahead on this. I should probably pull the pan and intake and take a peek inside just to be safe.

    Hot '53 Mercury flatty

This engine was in a car that burned in a structure fire. The car was toast but I'm hoping the engine is salvageable. The good: Engine turns over nice and smooth. Coolant and oil levels were still full. Water pumps, fan, and generator still turn. (Gen is a little stiff) The bad: Fuel pump...

Install of 1929 Sport Coupe Belt Rail molding

I used 2 wide pry bars behind the moldings and carefully worked the nails out from the wood...a little at a time. I haven't separated the inner and outer molding and don't plan to. I have no clue how it gets re-installed. Haven't gotten that far yet.

Install of 1929 Sport Coupe Belt Rail molding

Hugh. Here's a picture of my original molding. It was never removed before, as far as i know, and it's held on with 1 1/4" long nails. I'm really interested in knowing how you separated the inner and outer moldings without damaging them. And how you plan on installing the outer molding. No one...

    29 Tudor electric wiper

Fred, did you test it on the bench or in the car? The reason I ask is because I don't see the copper "ground" strap that should be fastened under that one screw. The other end goes between the rubber boot and the windshield frame.
