    1929 roadster questions (x3)

I did notice that the threaded plate is missing or looks to be missing in the upper part of the stantion. Testing my memory but I believe the holes should be 5/15-18. The plate was held in by a large flat head rivet.

    Happy Thanksgiving to ALL...

Here in the mid west, I totally agree. Jobs are not easy to get here & I still have one. May God bless all of you on this Thanksgiving day. We have many things to be thankful for. We can also try to be of help to those less fortunate.

    Paint spots on gas tank

I've had the blushing problem before. With that I usually wet sanded & polished & it looked fine. The tank was painted over a month ago when our weather was warmer but that doesn't mean the humidity didn't have an affect on it. I usually go by a cheap humidity gauge that I have. If it's over a...

    Paint spots on gas tank

Not sure if it would be old paint. I was more inclined to think it may have been from when I wet sanded the color before putting the clear on. I may have sanded through one of the color coats. I know this happened when I originally did the car. I thin each following coat just a little more than...

    Paint spots on gas tank

I had to restore another gas tank for our 29 A. I used the same laquer that I painted the car with 30 years ago but put clear on top. I put 3 coats of clear on at one time. I thought they were heavy enough. My problem is now that I have started wet sanding with 1200 grit paper I have some light...

    Any truth to this story?......

The story of the Dodges being pulled off the ice is true. We saw one of them last year at a light house in the U.P. If I remember right there were some newspaper articles posted near the car showing them being off loaded on the ice.

Can a Frozen Hood Latch be Fixed?

I am not familiar with the 32 hood latch but I would start with a very liberal dose of a penetrant like WD 40. I'd shoot it a couple times day for a few days & the start trying to work the latch & see if it will move at all. If that doesn't work then I would drill out the rivets (I assume there...
