    Brake spring unobtainable?

Did you take the spring over to napa, with your picture? I think they can order you a Brake hardware Kit. Take it over, and get a counter person that is older, and seasoned. Stay away from the website, walk in.

Model A models for tall drivers?

Technique of how to get in and out is important too. It will never be the same as climbing in and out of your new F-150 pickup.

    '55-'56 auto trans renoval?

I have heard that with an FE engine (351, or 390) that the C-6 will slide right in. Not even any floor modifications. I think I read that on here from someone that did the job in their driveway on a 1957 Ford. Ya know, on the baby birds the trans comes out the hood with the engine attached...

    replacing carb line ferrule

Good luck finding a place that sells ferrules. Hardware store are not really hardware store any more.

    Building Burtz block

O-ring main bolts... Where to get them? These are just drop in parts? I have never heard of these, but sound like a decent idea.

Wow, lucky you. If I lived in VA I'd be doing that.

    Steering box rebuild...

Can you get a rebuild kit at NAPA? Perhaps they have the parts individually? Assuming this is manual steering, there is not much to them.

    VIN location on frame?

I have a streetrod that has an assigned number in the state I bought it. I made the previous owner secure a VIN before I would accept the car. My state recognizes this VIN without even a question. FYI, my car was built in 1936, and the MFR affixed a painted VIN tag to the passenger side...

Are you in a state that issues titles? If you have a title, does the number on your title match the engine?

    Seat Belts Save Lives

I would like to know the same. Rear-ending someone happens all the time. I love my cast iron drums, with equalizing wedges. As for adding the seatbelts comments I'd like to add something. If the coach bolts snap and the coach separates from the frame you do not want your body to be holding...

    Carb Intake throat enhancement

Saxby, since you have the Marvel, have you thought about buying one of those intakes from Snyders that has the larger bore, and leaving it at that? Seems like one thing everyone agrees on is that more air (and fuel) going into the thing will give you more power. Lots of interesting comments...

    New Wire Harness

I vote for another modern style wiring box/harness. Don't spend the money for a name brand one, UNLESS IT COMES WITH ALL THE PIGTAILS. Buy more circuits than you need. You can fold them up tightly with a helper, and secure them up out of the way. This does not mean buy a 26 circuit when...

    How Fast

Given the scope of the question 55MPH seems to be the standard. However, a lot of variables can move that number to a higher speed in a somewhat safe manor. I must say the B/W overdrive in my car, with cast iron drums made a huge difference in the cruising experience. Even when cruising...

Problem with 1956 Tbird pulling hard to right

Likely a wheel cylinder, or a flex hose internal material wadding up in there. I flush my brake fluid about every 6 or 7 years. Easier than dealing with issues. Curious, is the brake top mounting have a nut on it, mounting it to the backing plate?

    55 Fordomatic leaking in front

I just had the torque converter O-ring replaced, as part of a trans-reseal project. That O-ring is like 11". I think Concourse Parts sells them. Match mark your converter with a spray can before opening it up.

    Timing help, some clarification

Next things to check 1) The wire under the point plate, bare, or tuching? If you use something to mark your position, you will not haver to retime the thing.. 2) if the cable going into the distributor is in too far, that tang will touch when the engine heats up a little. If this is the...
