What is the name of the side stainless that loops the windows and looks to be held on by clips on the 41-48 Mercury's and maybe Fords? Were they common? Were they an option? What about the rain gutter trim? Common? Option? Were they all the same as I have seen some that have grooves in the trim...

I bought a 1962 Thunderbird convertible and the hood latch cable is broken off with about 6 foot of wire on the handle. There is no way to get a vise grip to pull cable as it broke off towards the front latch. How do I get the hood open manually? There are 2 latches one on each side of the hood...
