A New Ford Barn Is Coming...

Much appreciated; this isn't the first or only forum I participate on that has had to change over the years (actually decades) to keep current - after the transition, I've found that most folks very quickly get used to whatever the new is, and forget about the old.

    Hard Work Hand Cranking Timing

I thought I remember reading in a thread that there was a bad batch of them. Anyways - definitely a good idea to set the timing with a test light. The first thing I did after getting a Nu-Rex wrench was check how it sets the timing, vs. using a test light. For my car, it happened to be dead-on...

    Anyone Making EVR's Today?

Jeff Stevenson & Lori Adams in Idaho recreated and are selling a Fun Projects type of Regulator (inside the cutout housing); but looking at their website, the 6V Positive Ground variant is out-of-stock (all others show in-stock: 12V + & - Ground, 6V - Ground) They have a Contact Page on their...

    LED Tail light options

Same here - noticeably brighter than the stock incandescent bulb & glass lens I had originally; I have no qualms over going modern to help prevent being rear-ended. I also have a third brake light mounted in the rear window as well, for the same reason.

I get an error on the above link; I think it was supposed to be this

How do you use your Model A?

Back when I was still working (on Pt. Loma in San Diego, in the 2010s), I'd make it a point to drive my Model A once a month into work - pretty much a 20 mile scenic drive along the coast in San Diego; it took me an hour, but the experience (and reactions from people who saw me driving by) was...

Hidden Luggage Rack on my 1931 Ford Model A = Zip-A-Rak Reproduction

Thank you for posting - I've been pondering of getting one of these from Bert's, and was wondering what the installation process would be like.

    Awesome Antique Car Collection

I was wondering the same thing; From the Video's description on Youtube: Let's take a look at Sheryl's antique car collection dating from 1913 to 1931. She enjoys driving these around her airpark neighborhood, collecting and working on them. Today we'll be looking at her: 00:00 - 1913 Ford...

New Youtube video: "Edsel Ford: The Forgotten Genius Behind the Model A"

This video popped up on my feed today - looks like it was just posted yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIoNAgAI4yo

    Coil Mounting Query

Going through my records, in April 2015 I bought a longer-than-usual coil wire from Mac's; it was advertised as 17 1/2" long, specifically made so that it would reach from the coil to the distributor when the coil is mounted with the contacts at the top - which is how I use it (my concern at the...

Radiator Fan: Two or Four Blade, Metal, Aluminum or Plastic?

Is the current fan an aluminum reproduction, or an original?

    Model A Era Phones

Oh, yeah - forgot to mention that: It's also a fairly modern reproduction, a Crosley CR82 (obtained off of eBay as well; they used to go for around $25 - taking a peek it looks like they're about double that now).

    Model A Era Phones

Well, Here's the telephone setup that I keep in the car when I have passengers to amuse. The phone is a Candlestick phone replica from the 1970s bought off of eBay, and it's plugged into a XLink BTTN Bluetooth Gateway. It connects via Bluetooth to my cellphone and I wired it up to a...

    New Ahooga Horns from Suppliers

Yup - that's why I went that route; I did what I could with my original horn, but it was intermittent at best - being a needed safety item, I absolutely wanted reliability. Even if buying a new one was costlier than sending my old one in for refurbishment somewhere, I'd rather have an...

    Fun Projects regulator

From that thread, here is a link directly to his website where he discusses the development of his Fun Projects type replacement regulator, and from there you can go shopping (for both Model A & Model T). Edit: took a look at his website, looks like the Model A regulator is out of stock, with...

    Radiator stone guard,

For what it's worth, I got mine from speedway motors and have been happy with it (I have an early 1930 Town Sedan); looking at their website, they are currently charging $221 for both the 1930 and 1931 versions (have to select which one you want before you can hit the "Add to Cart" button). I...

    a-6705 oil filter kit

I don't see the point in doing that; it's an anti-drainback valve. If you have the filter mounted horizontally (with the anti-drainback valve disabled), then won't your filter be, well, drained when you first start the engine? That means a bit of time without oil flowing (more important for a...

My latest upgrade: Shifter Knob with Gear markings

The latest addition to my Town Sedan was to replace the stock Shifter Knob with one that has Gear Markings. I found this one on Amazon for right around $23; I got it with White markings for visibility, but it's also available with Red markings as an option. From the description, it's meant...

Canister oil filter on a Model A

Wow - I think my Town Sedan used to have one; here's a photo of how it looked when the previous owner acquired it - unfortunately, when I bought it, the filter was nowhere to be seen; I guess he decided to get rid of it for some reason (but I added a Bypass filter from Snyders along with a...

    Knucklehead drivers

It seems like during, and now after the Pandemic a lot of people decided to start driving like maniacs. Sadly, I think this has become a permanent fixture within our society now.
