    Tense/Spooky Moment Last Night

Are you sure that is your shadow? It really looks as if the snow is reflecting the light behind you(or were you carrying a flashlight?), and it is forming a shadow of the front tire, fender, and headlight shell.

    Spark plug resistance

As far as I know, the "R"in the plug number indicates a resistor element built in to the plug. These are for modern cars, and the resistor helps to suppress the noisy emissions that woudl otherwise mess up your electronics-and your radio reception.

My Dad died of a brain tumor, after a 10-month fight and numerous surgeries, about 12 years ago. Cancer sucks. I know that medical knowledge and techniques have been advancing. Here's hoping for the best for Jim!

    Homemade Water Pump Wrench

Also, be aware that many of the better drill presses have a female Morse Taper in the spindle, and the chuck has a matching male Morse Taper shank-it is held in place by friction only. This works well for axial drilling loads, as these tend to push the tapers together and make the connection...

Can a sticky cutout be repaired? FOLLOWUP

Re: Can a sticky cutout be repaired? Good link, with a pretty good explanation of how the cutout works. I would add to it the following: -The fine-wire(inside) winding is just enough to get the points to close when the generator voltage rises above 6.2V or so. -Once the points close, then...

Can a sticky cutout be repaired? FOLLOWUP

The notches need to be on the outside of the washers, and deep enough so that the wires can go thru the "bottom" washer notch, through the inside of the spring, out through the "top" washer notch, and then back to itself around the outside of the spring, to be twisted together
