    Engine Oil Additive

Here's a video I found recently about additives and if you look at his other videos they are very informative and he does testing to come to his conclusions not just repeating what he has heard. While the videos are geared more to modern engines I still think it applies to all ICEs...

Inconsistent spark plug firing; can't get all 4 to fire

Check the distributor cam to see if all the lobes are consistent. Here's a video that uses a dial gauge to check the cam and point gap accurately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2R-ljyf9eg

Re: Do you own a 1930 Standard three window Fordor Sedan. I picked one up this past February at a swap meet. It has the eyebrow fenders to boot.

Gas pedal got stuck while driving.

I had a sticking throttle and it ended up being the tillotson carb, I switched it to a zenith and it stopped. That tillotson was on a different car before that and never had any problem so I'm not sure why it would do it on that particular car. The throttle shaft would start sticking and if I...

    What head is this?

I thought about grinding out the cracks a little and using some JB but I'm worried about the crack near the #2 spark plug especially with the higher compression.

    What head is this?

So after leaving the head in a rust911 solution for a day and cleaning off I think I know why it was sitting on the shelf. It has cracks across the top of the head and I don't trust it enough to try it out.

    What head is this?

Can anyone tell me about this? It appears to be a 5.2:1 head but it does not have a "B" cast into it.

Voltage regulation with a Zener diode

Make sure you have good ground connections. I remember seeing an article on FordBarn about how to check with an ohm meter. A bad ground will cause the voltage to go high.

    Blueing of connecting rod

Thanks for the replies, it puts my mind at ease that I don't have to worry about for now.

    Blueing of connecting rod

I dropped the oil pan on a newly acquired A to check things out and noticed all the connecting rods are blued at the wrist pin. I know rods for racing engines are heat treated but didn't think that would apply to the model A engine. Is this something to be worried about?

    Nu-Rex wrench ???

I just solved this exact problem yesterday on an A I just acquired. It has modern points and when timed with the NuRex wrench it was way too advanced and when I it timed correctly the wrench was passed the #4 distributor post but would start missing when the lever was advanced on steering column...
