Hi fellas. Some of you may remember my name. I haven't posted for over a year as my marriage went sideways. In a nutshell we lasted 31 yrs with the good being great and the bad no so much. I'm happier, broker & hopefully getting a tad wiser.... My good friend Lucky passed on this family...

    Crematory insulation for floorboards

I do windshield repairs for a local funeral services company. Very likable people. One of the head guys told me ... "some folks don't like us, but we'll be the last to let you down"

How to get "cadmium" finish on bolts etc??

I'm pleased with the Caswell copycad system. The instruction book takes you through every step and you'll discover variations in finish as you experiment with different metal preperation, current & emursion times. Time consuming indeed...but fun! Below, each pic shows the "dusty" untouched...

Old gas stains on glass, how to remove.

I always reach for cut polish or rubbing compound when I have stains on glass (the same stuff for polishing up old dull auto paint) Works fast to remove hard water deposits (water rings) from windows...leaving them silky smooth and easier to keep clean. Farecla G6 polish has worked the best so...

    Ditzler REDUCER Question

Is this the label? That's good old fashioned enamel. Buy some Enamel Reducer for industrial or farm enamel and you'll be spot on. (Not Acrylic enamel reducer or urethane reducer...you want Enamel Reducer) I know that Delstar acylic enamel would go "seedy" after a few yrs on the shelf...this...

    Brass Carb Plugs

Loctite is good. Be extra careful with the uppermost plug (over the idle screw) as the thin casing is super easy to crack. The plugs in some kits are incorrect sized but it's easy to make them with a bit of brass on a lathe or even a drill chuck held against the bench with a hand file. Charles...

    The Latest in Lighting

I'm one that doesn't like LED clear lights. I bought a cordless Snap/on trouble light which features probably a few dozen LEDs on a circuit board...nice bright light but for some strange reason it hurts my eyes. Working under dashes and hoods these lights are constantly flipping over and shining...

Rodding Rad from Top or Bottom

#1 I rodded mine from the bottom. There was quite a buildup of pebbles, rust chunks, wood, grease & feathers...yes feathers. Even though two radiator shops said it had excellent flow....I think it had 11 or 12 tubes plugged solid. #2 The tubes have a soldered seam which is extremely fragile...

slant window windshield won't close all the way

Did you have the glass replaced? If so...make sure the arc matches the filler strip. In the event it's only rubbing at the centre that means they either changed the arc when pounding in the glass OR maybe it's not seated in the groove and actually pushing the channel downwards OR the glass may...

I need quick help Please, Factory glass dimensions

The original NAGS (referred to by skip) only lists the block size for slant window cars. Unfortunately block size is for cutting and billing info where it lists a square cornered piece required to make that window, taken up to the nearest even inch. You may need to make templates from a thin...

    31 coupe door glass

The service bulletin chart does indead have an error in the first picture. The first two lines under that first picture should be crossed out in everyones book right now. Picture #6 is closer to correct. Also this chart is 1928 specs when coupe & tudor shared the same door glass...not the case...

What makes a Grown Man Cry?

Paintless dent repair is almost an art form. Ask around some of the higher end car lots, these guys use paintless dent repair a lot and should know who's good. You'll be amazed what a true expert can do...but the field is ripe with those who are still learning (on your car) which could lead to...

    Accelerator Pedal Pad Lock Washer

Interesting thread. For the record that book does contain errors. I've got in the habit to pencil in notes beside stuff if I'm positive it ain't correct.
