Okay, I'm following this thread to try to find out exactly what the wheel width is for a '39 wide five. It is my understanding that tires are intended to be mounted on wheels of certain widths. Am I misinformed? Also, how can one accurately measure the width of a wheel with a tire already mounted?

This had been in the family since 1966. My dad paid $1100 for it. I sold it in 2008 for $10000. Wish I had kept it.

Agreed, Zax40. This is my historical plate for my '39 Sedan. $20 for the current tag registration and no ad valorem tax due to age of car.

Tom, I can't find any numbers on mine anywhere. Mine is a much lower profile than yours. It has a Ford maintenance decal on it but no reference to any year.

I need recommendations for the best place with the best price for a new 94 carb for a '39 Standard. There is a fitting missing on mine where the hand throttle rod connects and I'm not sure I want to tackle a rebuild. Recommendations please.

Who wants to try to explain to me how this throttle connection to my 94 carb on my '39 Standard is supposed to work? This is on the left side of the carb and there is no moving linkage, just the ball on the end of the shaft.
