1930 SS Rock Guard - Never used

I purchased this Rock Guard several years back for my 1930 Coupe but never installed it. Would not look good on my late 31 pick-up. At that time I paid $139.95 for it and will let it go for $125.00 plus shipping. Contact me at modelaford@comcast.net

    Tinny Ticking noise in engine

I have a clicking noise (tin tone) in the engine. At first I thought it to be the starter bendix clicking back off the ring gear and does the one on my engine test stand but that is not it. It seems to me a while back someone mentioned something about the lack of a gasket in the oil pump and if...

Where do I get a rear window seal???

Gosh, I must be dense. I just put mine in a pick-up and had no problem with the fit. It may be different with the coupe or fordor but the pickup was fairly simple.

    Babbit

Bill Barlow's Bearings look lke a fine piece of jewlery and the precision is outstanding. He s very particular about his product and his Babbit does not have any lead what-so-ever. I do have (somewhere) the make-up of his Babbit but it is somewhere in this huge monster of a computer and it would...

    model a head

Looks like it is once again time for Gord's Head Puller to resurface. If this is "David", maybe we can get Gord By The Bay to respond so you can get it touch with him. That is a wonderful tool and to me it has never failed. I also made one with a cutout to remove the head with the distributor...

Tool Box under bed of Pick-Up

Keith, I agree the box needs more support. I put the weight on the modified rear bumper brackets then ran straps from the bumper brackets to the wooden rails on the wide bed. I installed 3/8" GR 5 Bolts through the wood rails at about a 30 degree angle which not only gives it weight support but...

Tool Box under bed of Pick-Up

I have just finished building and pre-fitting a tool box for in the rear and under the bed of a 31 Wide Bed Pickup. I am half way pleased with it but would make it a bit larger if I re-did it. This one is 6" H, 28" W and 18" Deep. I could have gone to 8" H, 30" W and 24 " Deep. It would have fit...

    1929 Pickup Restoration

Seems like I recently noticed some photo's of someone restoring or restored a 29 pickup. I have a friend that is starting to work on one he has had for many, many years and he called and was looking for some information on how something ? fit. I just did a late 31 pickup but a lot of difference...

    exhaust deflector

Steve, I have one on my Pickup and it is great. It keeps the exhaust from blowing on the rear axle housing by defecting it down. On mine (Ihave the SS Aries) and it will just barely fit just in front of the axle housing.

    Many issues of the restorer

After Old Tin Dealer sells his Restorer Magazines (I do not want to take anthing away from him as it is his post). I do have Restorer Magazines which goes back to VOL 1 & 2 (Missing Vol's 3 through 10) then all the ones in between then and now. Looks like I may not have any use for them. Plus I...

Does the Model B Engine have the modified oil pan to fit a Model A or is it strictly a B Oil pan. Also, what type of counter weights. Would it happen to be a BB Crank with a 3/8 inch over lay over the rod bearings? Thanks, Dick B.

    title problem

Is the serial number (VIN #) on the engine or frame or both. The Vin number you listed is for a November 1930 Model A. Throughout the years it was pretty much a standard practice to change an engine and have the title changed to match the newly installed engine. In my state, at one time they...

    Car pre-puchase inspection checklist

Sure is good to see that some are interested in doing it right the first time. Recommendations as indicated above are excellent. I would like to express a little bit stronger on the rust portion. Look at the paing at the bottom portion of doors and panels for bubbles, cracks, etc. Crawl under...

Here is our previous 170-A with Rose Beige and Seal Brown. This was painted around 1975 if I remember correctly. Lacquer and held up very nicely but has started a little checkering.
