    What am I doing wrong?

Solved the problem. Just took brute force to get the outer housing moving. Tied the sector down and used the tube like a slide hammer and with force it came off. Thanks to those that chimed in with suggestions.

    What am I doing wrong?

Currently trying to remove the steering column housing from a 1935 Ford coupe. I have been able to move it approximately one inch and no further. Screw holding the locking collar has been removed. Lots of penetrating applied. I would appreciate any advice on how to get the housing off.

Just to let everyone know, the fuel injection on my coupe finally appears to be correctly functioning. While it ran out of the box, there were teething problems Low idle could be corrected by drilling out a pushed in blockage that covered and adjustment torx screw. A harder problem to solve was...

Ken: Thanks for the reply. Getting the computer reprogrammed is not a problem. All you need to do is remove the chip and send it out to be done. My brother has the name and address of a party that does this. In regards to fuel pressure, the GM TBI operates between 9PSI and 12PSI. I'm on my 3rd...

Ken: This is IMPRESSIVE work. Took a lot of ingenuity and thought to comeup with this working concept. Lots of odd parts to bring together and then get them to actually work. What kind of fuel pressure are you involved with? My system is more of a simple plug and play. Arnie

Thanks for the photos. I was limited on what to purchase due to wanting to retain the original wire wheels. Recommendations for wheel width have me already beyond specs as it is. For anyones information, I am running without tubes.

Nothing changed on the spark plugs or wires. Plugs are NKG B-6L and wires are a set of Belden edge premium 7mm from NAPA. Changed plug gap to .035. Would have liked taller tires but limited rim width and 16" wheels limits the availability of off the rack tires. Forgot to mention that the rear...

As per the requests attached is a photo of the coupe. When purchased about 5 or 6 years ago it was essentially an undriveable survivor. Car has minimal rust, original paint and striping and original interior. Brakes might as well have been nonexistant. Brakes repaired with a kit from Flathead...

Thanks for putting the photos on. To answer your question on the cooling fan; its electric located in front of the radiator. I think I have figured out the way to put photos on and will send one of the car with a description of what has been done to it tomorrow. Regards: Arnie

Forgot the ignition information. I used a distributor from a 57 to 74 Chevrolet V8 motor modified to fit the flathead. I an using a Fast internal ignition module. A Petronix would be an alternate. No reason the flathead distributor with an electronic ignition could not be used. My system has...

Photos have been sent to roundmotor. Photos will show the early Chevrolet TBI from a 4.3 liter for my purposes, the unit has bee rotated 180 degrees. This places the throttle linkages on the passenger side so I could use the existing Ford linkage. I modified a spare throttle rod as per the...

My Covid 19 winter project has come to fruition. I now have a1953 Mercury motor running on an early Chevrolet TBI system with a custom made wiring harness and a reprogrammed chip. Unit is bolted to an Edelbrock 4 barrel manifold. Actually runs great. Very responsive with more power. I always...
