Back in the late 70s I put a Gaz engine in my ‘29 pickup with a 2 port Riley head. When I fled Los Angeles, I sold it. It was either that or my ‘47 Marmon Herrington 4x4 pickup. Sure wish I could have figured out how to keep them both!

King seeley guages work on pulse, not resistance. They work just fine on 12 volts! They just react faster I’ve been running that way on my 47 pickup for 45 years and 50K miles.

How do I replace the antenna lead from the radio to the center mast? Does the headliner have to be dropped?

‘38 heater Still trying to find template for heater install. ‘39 heater in ‘38. Assuming firewall is the same or similar. Also need defroster nozzles.

My battery is in he firewall on the passenger side. Heater needs to be in center.

While digging through the internet I found a book with a bunch of old original cam specs! The book is “ How to build Ford flathead power” By George McNicholl. Has several different grinders. It seems the R1 is Windfields full race grind, and it doesn’t match what is on the cam card that...

You’re right about the -1 on exhaust closing. After was scratched out on the card and before was written in. What’s the drivability for the street look like? Should I be looking for something else?

I just found the cam card on the Winfield R1. @.020, 256/246. @.050, 226/218. Lift .332/.322. Maybe this would be a little more streetable?

I wasn’t sure if it would work for me. I may end up with 52 mercury grind. Don’t want to have too much cam for the rest of the build. I am going to use Zephyr springs depending on cam choice. I also have a Winfield R1, need to know more about it.
