Oil Filter Canister for 1948-1952 F1

I've got an extra oil filter canister from my 1952 F1 for sale. I replaced it with one that I hydro-dipped. After removal, I completely cleaned it; primed it and then painted with high heat black glossy engine paint. It has both threaded nuts for connection to the hard lines. Shipping extra.

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

So update on my speedo issue - after pulling it and greasing it, it worked but once I got to about 50 MPH, it went bonkers again. So, instead of pulling it and greasing again, I opted for a new one. When I put it in today, and took it for a ride - no bueno. :-(... Brought it back and pulled...

    Carb leaking?

I had a leak at the throttle base on mine - took forever to find it. Finally replaced the base for one without the throttle rod and problem disappeared. Good luck

paper filter in oil bath filter container

52 Ford F1 - I have an oil bath filter, but pulled it to add a small Edmunds paper filter. I'm thinking about putting my oil bath back on but have heard you can put a paper filter in it. Does anyone know which one you order? I don't want to modify the oil bath filter - just add the paper...

    Another gear ratios question

Have you looked for a tag on the rear end differential? I'm not a mechanic at all, but I've just started learning about differentials for my 52 F1 -It has a Dana 44 with a 3.92 gear ratio. There should be a tag bolted to it with two numbers and a line between them (Mine is 47/12) Divide the...

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

Thanks Tom (and everyone else!) I'll try the oil tomorrow in the gauge - if that doesn't help, I'll order a new speedometer cable.

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

Thanks re- the light clock oil... update - I just got back from a run to the parts store and the speedo started acting up again - it settled down and stayed close to speed (but still jittery).. Is it an issue of not enough lubricant or too much? I sprayed the Lithium grease on it and then wiped...

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

Update: So, all done! I disconnected cable from gauge. It took a bit to get it out, but eventually the cable popped out (there's a little bushing at the spedo side).. I pulled it completely out. Cleaned it and sprayed some lithium grease in the housing and then on the cable and wiped the excess...

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

Ok - got it! I bought Lithium grease to do the job. I'll pay attention to not using too much and, well - wish me luck!

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

Thanks. So if I understand correctly - just pull the internal cable out and don't remove the cable housing itself? I assume I'll need to disconnect the speedometer cable from both ends however? I've looked and both sides are accessible with little effort. I'll go to parts store and get the...

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

Sorry - South Carolina : Columbia. It was chilly this morning. So, to lube it - disconnect it on both ends. completely remove it - clean and lube. Since I've never done it, can you offer some advice on how to go about it? I assume I disconnect from transmission and speedometer - does the...

    Bad Speedometer cable or...

Good morning all - I took my 52 F1 out this morning and while driving, the speedometer started going erratic. City driving so not going fast - maybe 35. It started jumping back and forth. When I stop, it goes back down to zero. Before I start looking - is this symptomatic of a bad speedometer...

    New member, 1951 f1

Welcome! Nice 51! I have a 52. The name on the side of your truck - is that a 'homage' to Sanford and Son? - their's was a 51 as well. ! (loved that show!)

    What do you think?

Thanks - I did flush the transmission and replaced the gear oil in it about 60 days ago (1000 miles ago?) --- I didn't think there was a correlation - but thought I'd ask and just enjoy the lack of grind. And, I do come to a complete stop and always go to neutral when I do - then drop to first...

    What do you think?

I have a 52 F1 with a 239 and 3 spd on the tree. Dana 44 rear end. From the day I've had the truck, the transmission would 'grind' going into 1st gear (non-sync?). This past weekend, I decided to change the gear oil in my rear end. I've had the truck since April and not sure if/when the prior...

    Blower Motor Resistor - 1968 F100

I found a GM one that 'looked' like it at Summit Racing, but the holes weren't far enough apart and it wouldn't work. https://www.autopartsdb.net/assets/images/ProductImg/3/3798317_thumb.JPG I read the Mustang one would work, it has an extra connector for the AC - but can't find those either

    Blower Motor Resistor - 1968 F100

Unfortunately, no. Mine has three connectors on it with two resistors the connectors are in a "U" shape. Thanks for the link though!

    Blower Motor Resistor - 1968 F100

I have been going absolutely bonkers trying to find a replacement blower motor resistor - I don't understand why this should be such a hard part to find. I have a 390 with heat and no AC - I've just finished completely rewiring it with a new harness. In that process, we found the blower...
