Roger Terry, will check later this week. Also hoping Mac VP will check in with his two cents.

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

The pin has been present during my driving. It was not in the tower during photos.

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

Ok! I FINALLY got the tower off last night. Confirmed this is a 40-7222 marked 33-35 tower. I'm not really seeing any crazy wear or marks, but I also don't know what I'm looking at. Opinions?

    37 V8 - Thermostat anchor??

I have a 1937 21 stud (pump in block) V8, with '42 V8 radiator hoses. How the heck do you keep the stant type thermostats from being pushed up into the radiator hoses? I searched around on here, as well as Jalopy journal, and could not find any real answers, except one guy that tied thin copper...

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

Roger. I will remove the floor and pull the shift housing this weekend.

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

Here is the shifter. I was surprised how unworn the side nub is. and equally surprised how bent(?) the bottom one is.

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

I did not have time to look into this over the weekend. I'll pull the shifter and get a pic tonight. Rotor, I will check, but I am very confident it is a 48-7006.

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

I was not careful enough in my description, so sorry for the confusion. To clear a couple questions up: There was no actual "boom" noise, I was using that word to imply how suddenly and unexpectedly it happened. This issue happened 3 times that day; each time I was able to push the shift...

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

I have a slant tower 1935 transmission mated to my 37 flathead. The problem I am encountering is when coming to a stop, I am used to shifting into neutral and braking to a stop. Shift to neutral, when I take my foot off the clutch, I can feel something move, and boom... shifter wont move. One of...

SoCal Uplholstry shop? (that knows stock A upholstery)

I have a 31 roadster, and new stock upholstery sets for the front and rumble seat springs. I'd rather have a pro install them, and because of the weird wrap on the quarter panels and tack strip, I'd rather have someone that actually KNOWS model A upholstery do it so they aren't guessing. Does...

    30-31 Roadster "Hip Panel" Upholstery?

Thanks Bob! That does help a bit... but I do still have a question on how the leather meets the steel body on top and doorframe... is it butt against the steel and tacked, or is it wrapped around under the wood? It just seems like it would be hard to tighten the wood pieces back up after it is...

    30-31 Roadster "Hip Panel" Upholstery?

Having a hard time understanding how the 30-31 roadster Hip panels (the triangular area behind the door, next to the front seat back cushion) are upholstered. The Cowl and door panels are easy as they are cardboard panels popped in or screwed flat to the body. The hip panels are somehow material...

    Rebuilt speedometer needed

Mark is AMAZING. I sent him mine for a tune up, and it was in the mail longer than it was on his bench.
