Have the steering box apart and cleaned. I cant figure out a way to remove the top bearing retainer from the housing. The way it is installed I cannot get a slide hammer to grip the retainer cup to remove. Any ideas?

I need some help Identifying my Flathead. It is out of a 52 F1 but the PO said it was replace years ago.

I am pulling my flathead engine out of the truck to transport it to the machine shop. Can i just lower the engine onto the wooden pallet and let it sit on its oil pan or do i need to do something else?
