Is there a way to test a 1949 Mercury stock King seely sending unit ? TIA Jacob

I have a 1949 Mercury converted to 12v with stock 6v starter. I turn the key on hit the button and it cranks for one turn & then it spins. Turn key off and it cranks for as long as I push the button. Do I need a new solenoid ? If so what is a good one to go get at the local napa ? TIA Jacob

Does anyone know where I can buy a 12v Governor for a R-10 OD? My OD works when I first start driving it but after awhile it stops working sometimes it doesn’t work at all. I’m thinking I need a new Governor. Any help is appreciated thank you.

I got my transmission at the shop, second gear issues hard time getting it in second and it’s popping out. Shop is looking for parts having a hard time. Says he needs shift collar,second gear,gasket set & synchro. Where is a good place to get parts ? Vanpelt ? TIA

My carb is leaking where the fuel line goes into the carb, took the line off cleaned it up put some thread sealant on and was still leaking. Got a mirror and looked up at it and the fuel is coming out around the outer ring of where the line goes in. Kinda hard to explain but looks like it could...

Can I have my 6 volt generator converted to a 12v alternator ? If so who can do it or is it worth it ? What is the best 12v Alternator that looks stock for a 49 Merc Flathead V8 ? Converting the whole car over to 12v & only have a battery and coil so far.

So where the dipstick is riveted to the pan it is leaking, any ideas how to stop it from leaking ? Besides pull the pan and put some bolts in it.
