Thinking putting S-10 5sp trany in my '46 Mercury 1/2 ton. Got most of the parts for conversion. Question is what you do with the cross member, behind the trany, without brutally butchering it. Truck is completely original with 3sp on floor. Thanks for any info.

Hi again, I understand now that there are two designs of head gaskets for 59 A engine. One with big holes and one with small ones. I was not aware of this, Is this something to do with improved cooling? Can I use the one with the big holes or is it going to overheat? Thanks.

Can a guy switch '46 front mounted dist. to a side dist like on later flatheads? Can this be accomplished by switching front timing cover? Thanks
