    Another insurance question

There are probably some insurance grues out there who can answer this question. During a discussion last night a question came up regarding coverage. If you insure a generally stock car and then undergo a significant horsepower increase (via engine change or accessories) and didn't tell the...

    New Zealand Tires

I have a set of Firestone tires that are marked "Made in New Zealand." I can find no date of manufacture. When did Firestone stop making tires in New Zealand? This might give me a clue as to how old these tires are. Thanks Tom

    sta-lube 3131 Rear axle grease

It seems no one in town carries sta-lube 3131. I need it for a rear wheel bearings. The only HD grease available is sta-lube 3111 which is sort of a HD universal grease. On-line 3131 is available but shipping is kind of pricey for a can of grease, also there is the time element. I have...

    Bulb size??

Need some help on this. I have looked just about everywhere for the correct light bulb size used in a '35-'37 glove box clock. I can find no references in any Ford publications. A #51 bulb fits but is very, very dim. A #55 is too big. I am using 16g wiring and have a good ground. Any ideas...

    Another paint question

    This doesn't make electrical sense.

If you have your entire car original (6 volt positive ground) and wish to run an accessory such as a modern radio (12v, negative ground), you need a converter. I have used these in several cars over the years without ever experiencing a failure. This is where the puzzle comes in. Since the...

    Electrical question

I have a small 12 volt dash light (2 cp). If I run 6 volts into into it, the bulb gets dimmer but doesn't die. Other than that does the longevity of the bulb also diminish? Thanks Tom

    Still another turn signal question

I have wired an after-market turn signal set up in my '35 and '36. From the dash switch a full 6 volts go to the flasher. Coming out of the flasher is 4 volts. This low voltage causes the turn signal lights to be dim. If I bypass the flasher the bulbs are nice and bright. I realized that the...

    Something is going "clunk"

I just finished putting hydraulic brakes on a '36. Braking is now sure and straight but on occasion I get a distinct "clunk" Unfortunately, I can't tell exactly where it is coming from (my hearing could be better). :( I did have the rear axle apart to change an axle shaft that had bad...

Another case of the repo blues

There seems to be an endless number of stories of misfitting repo parts. Let me add another one to the list. I have a '36 and several of the hub cap clips are broken off. No-clips, no hubcaps. Fortunately, several suppliers sell 68-1034 clips ('36-'39). They are not cheap but neither is...
