I believe the case on the right is the heavy duty 78 case used in the pick up truck. It has a thicker bottom as can be seen where the reveal is just below the oil drain plug. The one on the left doesn't have that reveal but it does have an extension of the raised strip past the oil drain plug...

Just put the timing gear cover and front pulley back on the 8BA. Was I supposed to lubriplate the inside face of the timing cover where the cam meets or does oil get in there somehow. I really hate to take it apart again. Thanks
