    Rear Main Cap needed

I am overhauling a late '31 block and need a rear main cap. Does anyone know a person who can supply a newly babitted rear cap. Needs one to fit a standard crankshaft. Thanks, Richard Lorenz.

29 phaeton more leg and back room

Has anyone figured out a way to get more leg and back room in a 29 Phaeton? I know that it would not be easy.

    Valve seats with pits

I am restoring an old block that was stored in such a way that some of the seats are pitted. Is it O.K. to grind the valves but quit before all of the pits have been removed?

    Manifold Gland Rings

These are the rings that go between the block and the manifolds. What experience or recommendations do you have?

Neoprene Seal for front of crankshaft

Does anyone have experience with the "new" neoprene seal that goes at the front of the crankshaft. It replaces the rope-type seal. It is described on page A-131 of Snyder's Catalog.

Late 1931 Ford A Model Coupe Dash

Any idea what these holes were used for? Dash panel cover has hole in center that does not align with these two holes. Thank you for any input!

    Cast-iron brake drum fit

I have a set of new cast-iron brake drums that are too tight to go on with shoes that have new woven linings. Is this the usual case? Also, do the new drums need turning in order to be centered properly?

Add a picture to the member description box

How do you add a picture to the "member description box" that is on the left side of each member's post? I know how to add a picture to the main post, but I would like to add a picture to my "description" on the left side. Thanks.

    B carburetor float height

Does anyone know the correct position for the round float in the Zenith B-1 carburetor? I assembled one with the top of the float [top inverted] at 1 3/4 inches above the carburetor seam. The carburetor ran OK, but I did not test it on the road. Was I close to what it should be? Thanks...

    Zenith B Carburetor Diagram

Paul Moller presented a drawing / diagram of a Model B carburetor, but it has an error in it. Has anyone else made a sketch of the internal construction of a B carburetor?

    Engine Vibration

I have an engine that was recently rebuilt by a very good builder. It has a vibration in it that I cannot figure out. The flywheel and crankshaft were balanced together by a competent shop. The vibration feels like it is something caused by an out-of-balance component, but that could not be...

    Door Dovetails

Are there any drawings of the original rubber pads that are part of the assembly that the dovetail slips into? The repro rubber that comes with a kit of parts does not fit right. Too large, for one thing. Thanks for any info on this.

Rear Shocks for a Pickup Truck

I have a pickup truck that will never be used to carry a load. In order to reduce the bouncing of the rear end and get better tire-to-road contact, I believe that using a thinner shock oil will accomplish this. Has anyone tried doing something like this? Thanks in advance.

    Rear Bumper Installation

I have a late 31 Coupe and would like to know which way the support bracket faces. I am talking about Snyder's part number A-17798. This piece supports the inner end of the bumper. The part that engages the bumper is off-center to one side. Does the off-center part face the center of the car...

    Wierd 12-volt battery behavior

I have a 12-volt car battery that keeps on charging when I connect it to a 12-volt, 750 milli-amp Battery Tender. It is charging now and the battery reads 13.1 volts. It has been at this super-high voltage for about 6 hours. When I connect this Tender to any other 12-volt battery, it stops...

    Distributor thrust washer location

The diagrams in both the Snyders and Brattons catalogs show that this washer should be located at the bottom of the distributor just above the sleeve. The distributor that I am restoring shows wear at the top where the upper shaft is supported. It seems to me that because of gravity, it would...

    Fog light bulbs

Does anyone sell 6-volt fog light bulbs. I believe that these are sealed-beam type bulbs. The housing that I have would take a 5 1/2 inch O. D. bulb. I am also interested in a clear bulb.

    Hidem Welting

I am particularly interested in finding out if there are any special tricks when using the wire-on welting that is supplied with the roofing kits that are sold by Snyders and Brattons. This is the same welting that is sold separately by Snyders as part number A-47304. Does it really stick...

    Rust Reformer Paint

Does anyone have any experience with Rust-Oleum's Rust Reformer Paint? It comes in a rattle-can and is a flat black paint that "instantly converts rust to a protected paintable surface". I got mine at Walmart in the automotive section. It looks like it would be good for frames and other rusty...
