I have three 30-40's U joints. Two appear to be 1/2 ton truck ,6 spline 1-1/8 inch on one end and 6 spline 1-3/16 on the other end. No excessive play in the joints. The third is NOS rear half and spider from a V8 60 joint. It's 1-1/8 6 spline. 40 bucks for all three shipped to your door.

I've been told how the front transverse single spring length is figured ; distance between perches minus 5 inches or set up perches with shackles horizontal for spring eye to eye length... What about the rear spring, same as the front measuring methods?

In the catalogs 46-48 shoes have a different part number than the earlier hydraulic shoes. It appears the anchor hole on the 46-48 shoes has two "flats", earlier shoes have a round hole..... You know where this is going...will the 39-41 shoes fit on 46-48 backing plates?
