In some posts the actual photo isn't shown, just this:

    Carpet mat repair

The rubber mat portion of my front carpet is flaking and peeling off. Other than that the carpet is in great shape. Any ideas on a repair other than replacing the entire front carpet?

    OT - crash test

OT I know, but given the talk about old car versus new car safety, I thought some might find this interesting, even if counter-intuitive. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/crash-test-video-pits-2009-chevy-malibu-against-142040507.html

    Conditions for overheating

I suspect I know the cause, but am looking for affirmation or something else to explore. It happened after sitting for a few hours at the car show (85 degrees and sunny). Going a fairly steady 40 mph, drove 5 or 6 miles when the 31 Tudor began to overheat, steaming and coolant pouring from the...

    Inferior oil

We all like a bargain, but buyer beware! This may have implications for motorists outside of NJ as well. WOODBRIDGE – Following an investigation by the state attorney general's office, officials moved today to ban the sale of 19 motor oil products for deceptive labeling. A Stop-Use and...

    Weeping head gasket

I just found that my head gasket is weeping at the rear of #4 cylinder. My first thought was to wait until the end of the 'driving season' before pulling the head. But I'm wondering if I'm inviting trouble by waiting. It's not a large leak and loss of coolant is negligible, but after a run I...

    Spot the Model A

Only peripherally related to A's, but kinda fun. But all too true! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOgd9hitEAE&sns=em

    Two-cycle oil in gas

The A's gas tank was empty so I grabbed the gas can and started pouring it in. After about 1/2 gallon I realized that I had the gas can for the string trimmer, meaning it was an oil/gas mix. I then switched cans and topped off the tank with about 7 gallons of gas. Started and drove for about...

    Spare tire carrier bolts

Just got a set of bolts to mount the rear spare tire carrier to the Tudor. The lower bolts, though are too large. Can anyone tell me the size bolts to use? Thanks for the help!

Gas shut off valve thread sealer?

I'm about to replace the gas shut off valve on my '31. I did a search on the forum and found one vote for sealing the threads with pipe dope, one warning not to use pipe dope, and third opinion to use thread sealer designed for gas (not sure if the the reference was to gasoline or natural gas)...

    Inside sun visor

I often thought there was a need for an interior sun visor in the Model A, but never saw one installed. Until today when I saw NHUSA's photos. In one picture there is a visor that seems to match the interior. Did Ford ever offer an inside visor? Does anyone else run with one (or two)?

    Refueling

I thought I would offer this for what it's worth. I always dreaded refueling my Tudor because of gas splashing on the paint and windshield. The pumps at the gas stations deliver at high volume / pressure -with little ability to adjust the nozzle. It seems the nozzle would be either full on or...

    1930 or 1931?

I have what I thought is - and is titled as - a 1930 Tudor. After reading through the threads here, however, I'm thinking that it is actually a 1931. Some of the characteristics: Radiator shell with painted top and bottom inserts Oval crank hole Indented firewall Single piece apron at running...

    Help me identify this trunk?

Can someone help me identify this trunk on my 1930 Tudor? It's metal construction with a wooden floor (with drain holes). The back side is contoured to match the body. I haven't seen others like it, so any clues would be appreciated.

    New to the A

After years of admiring the A, I just got a 30 Tudor. I have much to learn and have been methodically working through the threads in this forum. Thanks to all for the information that is available! Are there any Model A owners in the Middlesex / Monmouth county area of NJ? I could probably...
