    Gauge panel

I ve wanted an oil pressure gauge and water temp gauge for the Tudor for a while. I like the little 2" gauges, which is lucky cos they ar'nt as dear as the bigger ones. They needed to look well used (like the rest of the car!). I found just the right temp gauge this summer at a jumble for £12...

    Advice on worn bores please

I have original block in my tudor, and changed the heads last weekend. Was disappointed to see 0.060" pistons in, and searching threads the advice seems to be that I cant bore any more. My question to engine gurus is: would there be any improvement if I dropped the rods and pistons, honed the...

    Panhard Bar "Do It Yourself"

There is a deal of discussion re the benefits or other wise of Panhard Bars and Sway Bars. My brother found his Model A would dart sideways on a rough road. (Theres plenty round here!). Most folk seem to come down on front sway, rear Panhard. My bro wanted to try front Panhard, his theory is the...

    Which spider gear is right?

Gents I have stripped my Columbia down, and Nervous Bob has been to have a look and brought me some spares. It seems someone has re-built it with English Pilot parts, and now I dont know which bits are correct. Bob supplied me with a set of good spider gears, but they are a different...

    Where are Rumbleseats posts ?

I am looking to put a Columbia in my 32, and have read that Rumbleseat did a good post on this subject. But a check in the members list shows a young guy with only 6 posts under that name. Have all the early Rumbleseat posts been lost? Thanks, Tom.

    Please ID this axle

I know it has a home made open shaft converter, but would be very grateful for ID info on the axle itself. Thanks, Tom.

    Panhard Rod "How To"..

There has been some talk on the Barn recently about handling improvements ie panhard rods, sway bars etc. My brother has a Model A which had a scary tendency to veer off the road at will, especially driving over bumps and hollows. So he came up with a really simple Panhard rod for the front...

    Engine number stamped on block?!

Trying to get to the bottom of persistant mis-fire, I decided to take carb apart, and found 41 main jets! Put 51's in out of parts carb I had lying around, and the car is completely transformed. Goes so well now it makes the brakes a tad marginal....! So what I took to be an electrical problem...

    Timing the Tudor

Can anyone please help, I am trying to get the timing spot on with my '32 Tudor, which has Divers Helmet distributor. I prefer to do it on the car, so have marked TDC of no. 1 cylinder on the crank pully, and my static mark is the cross member just in front of the pulley. I can then use my...

Spark plug wire. Do they have to be copper?

I have bad mis-fire with my 32 Tudor on standard ignition system, 6 volts. When I first got the car I changed the old cracked leads, and bought some fancy new ones. Core is like black string in a plastic sleeve. Is this carbon core, and could that be why I have this mis-fire? Thanks, Tom.

    Please identify thread

I need to re-new the vacuum pipe nipple which screws into the distributor body. Can any Barners identify the thread please? It looks like 3/8x24, or 1/8th NPT, but neither seems quite right. Much appreciated, Tom.

    Please identify distributor

Please help me to identify this distributor, it has 4 holes instead of 2/3. Will it fit my 32 block? Thanks, Tom.

    Early generator charging output

Reading Barnfind08's post on generator wiring, I wanted to bring up something that has been brewing in my mind for a while. My question is....is there any way of varying the charge output of an old Ford equipped with a 3 brush generator with 2 wires coming out of it, other than by adjusting the...

    1932 Rear drum/hub

I thought I was doing the right thing torquing up my rear hubs, then had to re-adjust the brakes because the shoes were binding, making a noise. It makes no dfference how much I adjust off the brakes, the binding remains. So I pulled the hub/drum off, and there is a witness mark showing it is...
