I'm planning on buying a rear fender this year at Hershey and am wondering how I'm going to get it home. I know there's the UPS store in town but doubt they have a box big enough. I live in Texas and am flying back home. Anybody have any ideas? What have you done that works?
Was at a swap meet last weekend and stumbled upon a very early Victoria body. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it but wow! It was being transported from one trailer onto another as it was bought before it was even unloaded. The car had a full metal sub frame instead of wood. That's...
Saw a strange model a tool at a show a few weeks ago. Picture in your mind a hammer. It's the size of a normal hammer. On one side is a normal looking hammer head but on the other side is a socket to remove wheel lug nuts. The tool had a part number starting with "AF". I've seen A's with AF part...
I can't get the search to work on my phone so here goes. Does anyone have the best paint code for the mahogany woodgrain base color? Thanks in advance.
Well the tour is only a few weeks away and registration is now closed. Looks like about 190 cars and 400 people. If anyone has had any trouble with getting a room at the hotels, or is unclear on trailer parking, please let me know and as always, more information can be found on...
I've asked around and received both answers so once and for all, does a Murray Town Sedan's drip rails have a screw thru the tips to help hold them on? The car I'm working on has them and I don't think it's right. Thanks
I've been installing new wood in an early 31 town sedan. It's all going in great and I'm really pleased with the product (used classic wood). I've been installing the wood with the body off of the chassis. Am I making a mistake here? Should I have the body on the frame when I do this? I asked my...
We are trying to find some additional trailer parking for the 2013 mafca national tour. We are hoping to find a member who lives in the Gattlinburg area who knows of a large empty field that we could park some trucks and trailers at. If anybody can help, please let me know. Arlen...
I'm reading in the JS and they state that the standard phaetons had rubber plugs filling the top saddle holes. What did these look like and where can I get a set that looks close? Thanks.
Here in the states it's still December 20th but I know it's a day later down under. How about it our New Zealand and Australian barners? You guys still alive or what? Apocalypse start yet?
6 months to go before MAFCA's next national tour. We now have our first 100 cars signed up to go and are ready for our second 100. You can now see a pic of the event shirts on the event website at www.mafcablueridgetour.comIf anybody else has any questions, just let me know.
I'm looking for some specific model a horns. Either of the first two earliest sparton horns, any of the GIM horns, or the Ames horn with the large ford logo. These horns don't need to be in working condition. Thanks
Just got the body back on my wife's early 31 town sedan. Most of the wood in the car is very good but the wood in the very back and roof has to be replaced. My question is would you recommend I replace the wood before or after paint? There seams to be benefits to doing it both ways.
I am about to get started restoring a set of 31 running boards. They have a large amount of the original rubber coating on them. Do you think I will be able to get that off a commercial sand blaster or will I need to use a chemical stripper on it? Thanks.
I'm starting to see fine point cars with Goodyear tires that have a visible stripe painted on the side. I know the firestones have the red stripe, but I thought the JS stated that the silver stripe on goodyears were not visible. Am I reading something wrong? I thought maybe it was just...
Spoke with A&L at Hershey and they are reproducing the side curtain snaps so many of us are in need of. Production is pretty much ready to start and the snaps should be ready by early next year. They will be nickel plated. I got to play with a few prototypes at the swap meet and they work...
A little over a year ago, the die for the phaeton rear rubber mat broke and has never been replaced. It doesn't sound like its going to be. I've called every model a part supplier I know of and nobody can get one. What are we phaeton owners supposed to do? What other mat will work? Is a rumble...
