    1937 pickup gauges

Original gauges from my 37 pickup, excellent original condition. Temp sender intact and connected. Message me if interested. I have a few other items as well, 1937 spindles, wide five brake drums, 1939 rear brake backing plates with shoes, cylinders, springs etc. There is also 1937 commercial...

Elongated hole in 37 pickup floor board

I have an elongated hole in my floorboard that is just forward of the transmission cover. I think it is the access for greasing the throw out bearing when they did that. I want to know if it had a plug originally, or if the rubber mat just covered it up.

10" clutch issues with T-5 adapter

I have had a T-5 speedway adapter with a 1940 flathead and 9" clutch with no problems. I just switched to a 59A flathead with a 10" clutch, and it goes together with the adapter, but will not turn over. I have heard there can be clearance issues with this setup. What have others done in this...

    fuel pump delete

Deleting my stock fuel pump on a 59 block, going with an electric pump. Do I need to plug the fuel pump rod hole over the cam shaft, or is it ok to leave alone?

    Oil leak

Completely rebuilt 1940 flathead, bored 20 thousand over a 239 cubic inch. Egge four ring pistons, Max 1 cam, Edelbrock slingshot with two 97's. Engine runs really strong and sounds fantastic. Has about 50 break in miles, and has started leaking oil out of the hole in the flywheel pan. I figured...

    Front seals

I got my 1940 flathead running following a complete rebuild, and everything has gone right except after about 50 miles the one piece front seal is leaking. When I slow or go to stop it leaves a stream of oil on the pavement. This is as the oil in the pan moves forward. We had put a reddi sleave...

    Head light reflectors

My head light reflectors are really oxidized and dingy, what are you guys doing to rescue the reflectors and make them shine again? One headlight had a broken lens for quite a while.

    Jeff Beck passes.

Jeff Beck, a British musician has passed away at 78. What I always noted about him was his collection of 32 Fords. Though not stock they were some of the best examples of 32 Fords.

    What battery are you using?

The green book calls out the battery size for my 1937 pickup as 10.5 x 7.125 x 7.25. Most batteries that I look at are taller. Also curious if anyone has tried some of the light weight batteries, or agm. Seems that a battery that fits my height restriction is not as wide or deep to look right.

    First time start up

I have been on my project way too long, had the chassis and engine done in 2012. Since then, have been working on body, wiring, etc. I am now ready to start it up, and want to know, should I fog the cylinders? Oil pump was primed a long time ago. Should I just use water on initial startup? Heads...

battery hold down bolts 1937 pickup

Is there anything to hold the battery hold down bolts in place other than the carriage head on the end? Seems they just want to fall out when you remove the battery top hold down.

    1937 pickup winshield drains

I have two steel tubes that drain water away from the lower outside corners of the windshield and would like to know where Ford routed the rubber tubing from those steel tubes to the outside of the cab. I have no evidence of the original rubber tubing and can't find any outlet hole they could go...

    Initial start on new engine

What would you guys recommend on a new engine startup? No water and a short run to warm, then cool and retorque heads, or with water, or with an antifreeze? Would you recommend any block sealer added at startup, and if so what kind? This engine was completely gone through, but sat as the body...

Bolts that hold battery clamp assembly

I'm looking for a source for hold down bolts for the battery clamp for a 1937 pickup. In the green book they are listed as 77-810748 and 77-810749. I can find the carriers and the clamps, but no one seems to have the bolts. Any ideas for a source?

    Clylinder head clearance

I thought I should check clearance of my cylinder heads to valves and pistons. I remember Ol Ron suggested using aluminum foil balls stuck on with grease. I have Edelbrock 1126 heads, and checked clearance without a head gasket that I figure will add about .07" to my clearance. The valves all...

    Head gaskets

I am installing new Best 511 copper sandwich head gaskets in conjunction with Edelbrock block letter heads. Is there an up or down side to the gaskets? The copper rolls over around the cylinder and crimps on one side. Best puts their name on one side, There is a v notch on one end, is it...

    Sand washers for head studs

I bought an ARP head stud kit for my flathead, and read somewhere that you should sand the washers prior to installation. Anyone have insight on this? The washers seem to have a cross hatch from the manufacturer.
