Thanks Tony Will go with PV from them. Do have a few to check out here also. Got a kit on the way from local source so will ensure I have correct PV. She runs good on the flat. Will get the real test to West Coast. Porters Pass, Arthurs Pass and Otira are a great testing ground of a vehicles...

    8BA Carb and loadomatic Distributor.

That again is a good endorsement for ensuring existing distributor and csrb are set up best for best operation. The carb on it was done some years ago, runs fine. Have a good spare carb and have kit on the way. Plan to rebuild it with 51 jets and 6.5 power valve. All the best with your vehicle...

    8BA Carb and loadomatic Distributor.

. Yep thats my thinking, stock standard gear. All running to date on the flat but with the Mercury rear end 3.92 should be fine. The rear guards extended out to accomodate the wider mercury rear end. Following models blended this into bodywork better. Phil NZ

    8BA Carb and loadomatic Distributor.

Yep my setup is stock. But noted in Van-Pelt info showing a max advance of 11 degrees where as my set up is giving 24 degrees max advance. Since this loadomatic is only vacuum advance I would think the modification of springs internally is allowing this extra advance. I consider it runs fine and...

Timing light shows 30 deg off? Speedway Electronic Distributor

How about checking timing with a vacuum gauge. Set it up for best vacuum at idle, once warmed up. You say you have no vaccum advance? Only mechanical. Once happy with vacuum gauge method cross check using you dial back timing light. Should then be able to compare for operation of timing light...

1955 Ford Customline O/Drive Kick Down

55 Customline 272 with manual and o/drive. Works very well in all areas ie in and out etc. Some time ago replaced in/out cable. The only area which has not worked since I've owned it is the kick down switch at floor location. At this stage thought it would be good to have it operating. Do have a...

I had similar experience. 55 Customline with the one year off vaccum advance distributor. Carb had been changed to a later type carb. I went with a Pertronix distributor new one from ebay. Fitted also a 35o holley street avenger carb. Some fine tuning and this runs very well. I opted for a new...
