looking for oil dash gauge for 56 ford or merc

my oil gauge for my 56 merc isn't working it measures 41 ohms across terminals unhooked, from the sending it shows ground, changed sending unit it shows grd, with external gauge it works fine, the dash gauge when switch is turned it goes to max start engine it goes slowly to 0. any ideas???

When I was young I had a 56 Merc with a set of pipes that would shake windows. I didn't realize at the time that only Y block sounded like that. My 56 I have now has that same sound, man I love that sound. Does anybody else enjoy that sound like I do? ?

Just had my automatic transmission rebuilt it took about 4 weeks to get it done, they replaced the clutches, band, starter ring and resealed it. drives good happy with so far. The question I have at what speed will the passing gear not kick in?
