Hey guys our car club is planning a Friday tour of the edelbrock plant. I am curious about it but has anyone else been? Is it worth the 2 hour drive?

What's your average trip, and furthest distance traveled?

Hey guys, I am just getting comfortable running distances, I have only traveled approx 20 miles from home, now that I have been a couple trips under my belt without issues (past issues do to dirty fuel tank). I am curious if the 30 mile radius is pretty common, or if you all generally go further...

    Techniques to set timing...

Hey guys, I am confused about timing, the manual for my 1957 thunderbird 312 ybock states 6* at 500rpm. But I see people posting that they run better at 12*. I hope this is not too confusing to read. So I have been experimenting with different degrees but I don't want to hurt my engine...

Fuel filters and why did it let me down.

Why did this filter not catch particles from getting into my carb, the particles are big enough to plug accelerator pump jets and cause my floats to act crazy. So is everyone using this same filter with success?

    Wow fuel tank is dirty...

From my earlier posts I explained how I went about checking compression, I have fought carb issues, vaporlock... etc. well after tuning everything up I changed my oil and went for a quick drive, I was getting a bit low on fuel because I planned an draining and cleaning my fuel tank. Well I...

    Suggestions about ybock 312 compression

Hey guys, the Tbird has been running great, getting the correct ignition advance made a huge difference. No more vapor lock or running overly hot in traffic, or fuel boiling.... So far. I adjusted my valves today just heard a little ticking in the passenger side valve cover and after using...

    Quick timing advice needed...

1957 Yblock 312 (rebuilt 8 years ago), Holley 4 barrel, Fordomatic, premium fuel, zink additive, lead additive. The shop manual states At idle set initial timing to 6* at 500 rpm in neutral. Vacuum approx 19 in. I have been reading that most people are running their timing at around 12*, is...

Vacuum gauge slight bounce/vibration at idle.

Vacuum timing, while setting my timing I am up around 21 in. of vacuum, but it has a slight bounce/vibration which I think is telling me that the valve seats are worn. This is a 1957 y block, which was rebuilt about 8 years ago. I run premium fuel and have only recently began adding lead...

1057 tbird stock 312 y block intermittent issues

Still going through this, so to start out, everything was running great, (timing set to 10* advanced, vacuum at 19), running through 3/4 of a tank perfectly smooth strong. I filled the tank with premium and everything went south, missing and running rough all the way home. So I rechecked the...

    1957 thunderbird, fuel bowl

Should the fuel bowl on the filter stay full. I notice it is often idling with only 1/8 of fuel on the bottom. Fuel pump is running at 3-5lbs of pressure.

1957 Yblock intake manifold, rough idle

I had a small water leak in my intake manifold, I replaced the gaskets, But now my engine idles high (1000rpm) and rough, coughs when I shut it off. I sprayed carb cleaner on all the fittings looking for leaks and found one fitting on the back of the manifold (running to the brake and fuel...
