    Roof Anderson Intake

Has anyone run this intake? It is engineered well but, with the open plenums, I don't know how well it would work on the street, or even racing...

Ford bell housingford casting number AE 9464-E

I'm trying to identify what engine this AE 9464-E bell housing fits. It has a casting date of 1949 and mounts to a 4 bolt '49 and later transmission. It has a 4 bolts to the block and 2, 3/8 dwell pins. The top 2 bolts are about 6.03 c/c.

    Cam Tech

I thought I'd start a new thread on cams for the V8, rather than add more to the other thread. But, this will apply to all engines, including, OHV and the L head 6. There is a lot to cam selection and there are many cams to choose from. Even though the cam is the heart of a engine, the cam...

    286 Dyno Results

First this isn't my engine. I stumbled across it yesterday. Since there are very few dyno results for these engines, I thought I would post this to show what even a high end build might produce.

    '56/'57 Lincoln Continental Mk II

One of my favorite cars, of all time. I never owned one but, when I was a mechanic (62-70) I got to work on and drive one. The first 15 minutes of the video, are about how the car came to be. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdjN970hx4w

    '54 FE conversion

Hi all, I just bought a fairly nice, all original '54 Mainline Tudor, with a 223 engine. I've always like the '54 but, never owned one. My folks had a Ranchwagon, when I was 13 and that's why I've always been attracted to them. My plan is to install a '58 Edsel FE, in it. I know it will bolt...

    Prony Brake Ideas

This is my concept of a simple Prony Brake Dyno. It's probably a little over kill to use a 1 1/2 ton disk for a 150 HP engine but, it would be trouble free, I think to at least 250 HP. The way I drew it, is with a screw, to activate the MC. That way you could leave it will doing initial...

    '37 Bellhousing?

This is a picture of the bell housing in my '35 Mod 51 truck. The truck only has 17K miles on it but, the engine was replace with rebuilt, .040 over, block off plate block at some point. It has dome pistons and it has iron heads, although I have FT .080 over, pistons and FT aluminum heads that...

    CMM Crank in earlier engines

I have found a 4" stroke Merc crank and I'm considering putting it in my later, block off plate, 21 stud engine. I know that I have to turn the mains to 2.399 and the rod journals will be offset ground to 1.999 using the later bearings but, what about the rest of the crank dimensions, such as...

    21 Stud Piston Fit

I just received my Simi Finished pistons, for my late '36 engine. It will be .080 over or 3.142 basic bore. These pistons measure 3.149 and are suppose to be finished by cam grinding the skirts. What I would like to do, is turn them round, instead. What would be the desired clearance for a...

    Who has one of these?

I'm been doing some research lately and came across this 1934 engine. These pictures are from the Ford Museum. It must be some kind of a prototype but, it's not dated 1932. Besides the exhaust, note the water intake.

    Authorized Ford Rebuilder network

I'm looking for info on this network that Ford established. Yesterday, I found a You Tube, by Ford, on the '36 Ford and it said that you could get a complete rebuilt engine for $56.50 at your local dealer, as a incentive to buy Ford. By that, the network was created, before '36. I would like to...

    Top three Ford Products, '32 - '53

I know that you can't like just one and I know picking, even 3 will be hard! But, let's try it. Because some years are very hard to tell apart, it will be ok to group them. I'm grouping two of my picks. 1. '33/'34 Ford, I have a real hard time telling them apart. I like them because they are...

    The "W" Block

I was highly interested in the Ford Flatheads, in the late 50's and early 60's and in those days, races where televised on the weekends at Ascot Raceway. I would watch them as much as my dad would let me :) I remember a lot of talk about the truck blocks, that where designated "W" and those...

    Early V8 Dyno Work

I have read, with great interest, the work of Ted Eaton and his Y block, dyno tests. Has anyone done anything like that with the first generation V8's? Or does anyone have any dyno runs on there own engines that they would like to share? Frank

    Off Set Crank Grinding

Who on the West Coast, does off set crank pin grinding? The West Coast, because of shipping charges. My local guy, will only commit to doing .010, off center. He won't do more, because it tears up his grinding wheels. I don't need much, at this time, only .040/.050 but, if I ever come up with...
