Damn. I noticed this puddle of coolant on my timing gear cover. It was much deeper a few days ago. My thoughts on debugging are: Water pump packing, Water pump gasket, head gasket. Is that a sound approach? Thanks Leo

Was out with the A yesterday for an hour. Outside temp around 75. Mostly cruising at 30-35. After shutting down, I immediately popped the cap and checked the water temp. Clocked in at around 185. Is that a bit hot given the parameters? Thanks Leo

My ’30 Roadster overheated yesterday during a slow-moving Memorial Day parade in northern NJ (Outside Temp upper 60’s). Later, I realized that I was running with my timing fully retarded. Did that contribute to my issue? Thanks Leo

I assume the corrosion on the hold-down corners is from a leak? Also, it's not revealed in the picture but the area around the positive post is swollen.

I decided against a fuel shutoff rebuild kit and instead, for a new valve. For kicks, I dis-assembled the old shutoff (see attachment). I was expecting to see some old grungy packing but all I saw was tapered brass. What gives? Leo

My generator has a rear bushing and not a rear bearing. Do I put a dollop of grease in the bushing when I re-assemble? On pic 1, that indentation looks like a spot for a split ring. But nothing goes there, correct? On pic 2, is there any reason to change those brushes?
